As I know from this page, security is going to be in the second stage, so once criminality is done you can get your email.

We are in the same shoe, I have been waiting for background check since May 2023 after AIP. My application is already 19 months I'm just waiting for the 20 months cap before I know what to do. So no time limit as it stands.

AIP means Approval in Principle. If you didn’t receive that and you saw decision made in your ecas, I'm sorry to say, it is a refusal.
