Hi everyone,

So yesterday my lawyer forwarded me a letter from IRCC requiring a valid passport (mine expired) and right of permanent residence fee. Lawyer has the fee as i paid beginning of the application, and is out of office for the next 10 days or so…

Can i write to IRCC for passport exemption and inform them the fee will be paid by lawyer at a later date? Will this complicate anything.

Or should i wait for lawyer to continue the process when they return to office?
Please advise me

I believe Bank statements or pay stubs or T4’s will do the job

I will advise you should wait for the lawyer to come back in 10 days since you have 30 days to pay for the fees.

The only other way is by phone. But remember if your application was submitted online, there's no other way to check your status other than phone. But if it is paper submission you can always check your status online through status check.

Would include bank statements to show savings amount, NOA for at least last 2022, proof of employment with salary amount can be included. That would be the most thorough because it covers savings, current salary level plus proof if employment and last year’s total income.
