3-12 months. You need to call the call center and ask status update. If all checks are complete, your file is awaiting final sign-off from senior officer. If not, background check is ongoing.

Background checks are composed of Criminality and security (espionnage, terrorism etc.). Criminality starts the day they sent you biometrics (which is before AIP). Security is done after AIP and involves international agencies hence long delays.

Mines is complete all checks are pass I was told on July 21st

Same for us - it took almost 5 months to sign off file. There was a shortage of senior officers to do final sign off so our file was sent back to Vancouver where they finally closed it.
