So you're thinking it shows how many times they have opened the file on that particular line item?

About the counterfoil, I agree. Non visa exempts will need it. But it says No for my husband and he's not visa exempt! What does it say in your file?
I think they open for example
criminality: 1
the status might be NOT started
another agent will process this item later
if as you say two persons in the application it will be
criminality: 2
....

Mine says Counterfoil required: YES

I think it shows how many times they've updated that particular item. Sometimes I see multiple entries with a single date.

Hopefully someone notices that eventually, but if they haven't by the time you get PPR, you might want to note in your cover letter back that he is not visa exempt and does need a counterfoil visa!

I found this instance of GCMS notes interesting. Shows the progression, and maybe the possibility of some VOs updating at the very end.

Hello, I got our second GCMS today (not that it matters now ;D ) but I just want to share , might be useful info for some.

Since the last time I received the GCMS (generated 6/28) this time its generated 7/30, Eligibility, security and criminality assessment was not started still. Only thing I see that's new is it looks like the VO requested for copies of IMM1283 (financial eval form) and IMM1344A (SA & Undertaking) from CPC-M, and of course my first GCMS request was also indicated there.

That's it, no other update for 1 whole month, so it looks like whatever assessments they finished and whatever finalization they did on our application was done between July 31 to August 16 when the visa was issued (roughly 3 weeks). What I can conclude from this is that applications can just sit there for months (waiting for results of security check perhaps or the next bring forward date) but once they start working on it it just takes a few weeks to finalize.

Hmm. I hope so! I'll make sure to mention this in the cover letter when they ask for his passport. Thanks!

Question on the second GCMS Notes request.

I am my Parents Representative and currently getting the Forms ready for the second GCMS Notes request. Do I need a fresh IMM5476 (Use Of Representative) Form signed today, or the one which I used for the first GCMS Notes request will suffice (it was signed in August 2012) ?

You can use the same one. It's only the information request form you need to fill again.

I think whether your theory or BCgirl or missmini or mine; the number is not important
I am more inclined towards yours which resembles a bit my theory

Really? They cross out UCI numbers? For us they didn't cross out any numbers.

I wonder how often they are required to update it. We're past the eligibility deadline now, but no notes about our eligibility at all. And the eligibility section just reads "not started" even though it way after the set deadline now.

I thought maybe some officers prefer to enter notes at the end of the process? But then it will defeat the purpose of the global notes.
I think it depends on who is requesting. If you request for your spouse (PA) and of course had the release form. This means you will get both files with most likely full release. Since you both have requested.
However, if a person requests without a release to another (the sponsored) then they will release only the requester. That is of course unless a mistake happens and they release both files.

I was gonna ask this actually. The question came when you mentioned you got the full file. What I sent was IMM5563E, IMM5475E, the receipt for $5 and I used his file number (starting with F) in the information request form. Will this give me the full info, or I will need the "use of a representative" instead of "information release" form?

Information release is sufficient.
