How long does it take now to process GCMS? It is still 4 weeks or has Mr. Kenney made it faster by increasing the processing time i.e. 14 weeks.
Everything is possible!!!

They legally have 30 days to respond. So what they generally seem to do is pull your file when they get the request and then send the results one month later. I've had two exceptions to this: one was a request for a physical file, when it took about 75 days (which is beyond the 60 days allowed by law) and the other that I requested on 10 September that they provided on 2 October with a date on the notes of 26 September - not sure why they pulled notes late and forwarded them early. My other request on 10 September hasn't been received yet, so I expect to see it in the next two days.

How many times and how frequently GCMS notes can be requested?

Did not find any information on cic-sites if there are any restrictions...

Wondering if this may impact the processing of the file if to request GCMS every month, for example.

Has anyone requested for GCMS more than once?

Thanks !

I request them monthly. You will see your ATIP inquiries on the reports, but other than that it does not appear to affect processing.

Received my notes. They were pretty much empty.

Only notes were this;

No CSCD; no biodata ppt photo/missing 1 ppt photo

I'm assuming no biodata means nothing was written on the photo, and they are missing one.
I must have counted the pics 10 times. Pretty sure Cuba guide asks for 8, and did not state to write any info on the back.

Any idea what CSDC is??

I think the CSDC date is the date that CIC has all the completed documents, which explains the sentence after about the missing photo(s).

The file has been sent to Havana, and was opened on August 8th. No requests have been sent to myself or hubby for further photos.
And I just checked the guide, Cuba is 8 photos and does not require anything written on the back, so who knows lol. Jeesh.

Well, unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if one photo gets lost. So much paper in those offices! But they haven't asked for photos yet, have they?

Dr Eng X, I did some digging last night over this item, take a look at my post in the other thread where we were discussing the counterfoil.
Maybe we should combine our discussions into one thread now. GCMS notes are confusing as they are! :D

I find the structure logical, but very database oriented.

So for each section they indicate the changes to that information from newest to oldest. Like in my Application section (just received new notes 30 minutes ago, dated 26 September 2012, so much more recent than the usual 30 days to which I've become accustomed):

APPLICATION: 1
Field Name: Primary Office
Action: Updated
Old Value CPP Ottawa
New Value: Los Angeles
Updated Date: 2012/09/19
Updated By: MY04934
Office: Los Angeles

...

APPLICATION: 18
Field Name: Primary Office
Action: Added
Old Value:
New Value: CPC Mississauga
Updated Date: 2012106119
Updated By: CC5473
Office: CPC Mississauga

It also helps understand some of the timing - they updated the primary office on the 19th and issued the PPR on the 26th. Ottawa forwarded it on 12 September - "RVF" - "Ready for Visa".

I find the notes the most interesting though:

Reviewed file and case analysis: FOSS: PA previously refused SW application on A38, medical inadmissibility
for excessive demand. That file currently has application for leave for JR pending with Federal Court. Current
medical result is Passed (M39 - EDE). No other eligibility or admissibility concerns noted on previous file. PA
residing in Canada on WP since 2009, recently applied to extend. PA currently has TRP appln in process in
Seattle. Based on evidence on file, I am satisfied the relationship is genuine and has not been entered into
primarily to gain immigration status in Canada. Eligibility passed. _ Criminality: No concerns,
passed. All requirements met: File RFV. File forwarded to Los Angeles for finalization.

One thing I also notice about the notes - when they are sent to you they are huge oversized images. In order to pull the text out, I have to convert the oversized PDF pages into normal sized PDF files and then perform OCR on it. That makes doing a cut-and-paste a bit challenging.

The things they do leave in or omit are interesting - for example, they removed the date the "security" entries were updated, although it's trivial from context to figure out when it was done. In my last notes report they failed to strip out the UCI of my spouse, while this time they did.

thaaaank u :) but loool i'm confused if it's passed then how come inside each one with 1 it's written "not started" i think in some cases is passed but in others could just simply mean it's required
but i really don't know ::) ::) my brain is in a storm :p

This page in the Jamaica thread might be helpful:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/kingstonjamaica-t29680.20055.html

Also, I think the number 1, 0, etc is related to how many instances are required. I found a thread in FSW that for a family of 3, the number for security and criminality checks were 2. Made sense to me, since they were two adults and a kid.

Still not clear on the eligibility due date though.
I think (I could be wrong), the numbers under details of assessment section; the agent in CIC-M opens files for what is to be considered
then those files are processed once the decision is made passed or not it will determine whether other files are needed to be opened...

I asked CIC agent about counterfoil
she said: "It is placed in NON VISA EXEMPT permanent residents applicants passports"

I got my full file as they said "we released the full file"

Really? They cross out UCI numbers? For us they didn't cross out any numbers.

I wonder how often they are required to update it. We're past the eligibility deadline now, but no notes about our eligibility at all. And the eligibility section just reads "not started" even though it way after the set deadline now.

I thought maybe some officers prefer to enter notes at the end of the process? But then it will defeat the purpose of the global notes.

So you're thinking it shows how many times they have opened the file on that particular line item?

About the counterfoil, I agree. Non visa exempts will need it. But it says No for my husband and he's not visa exempt! What does it say in your file?
