Hi everyone.

I just got back my passport with my PR, so im very happy! Thanks everyone who helped in this forum.

The PR is valid until december, what happens after? When i have to renew it and how i do it?

Also i am in common law relationship, says i have to be in relationship for 2 years, does it means i have to send paperwork after 2 years? what should i save? do i have to proof things after 2 years or how this process works?

hope someone can help me understand. thanks!

It sounds like you have received your CoPR, which means that you must now land to finalize the process.

Is it your CoPR document that expires in December?

Regarding the Condition 51 that you have...you don't need to do anything after two years; it simply goes away.

Congratulations!

Hi Ponga (thank you so much for helping me, you are one of the reasons i got my PR and i couldnt thank you enough)

I am already in canada, i was here as a tourist while my application was processed.

I just got my passport back with a PR that was issued 21/01/2016 and expires 20/12/2016 i dont understand why that date but thats what it says.
What do i have to do before to renew it?

I also got a confirmation of permanent residence that says sign at the port of entry, but im already in canada so what i do with this paper?

And finally what you mean by condition 51 where it says that? so i just renew the PR every year? and they are never gonna ask me proofs of my common law relationship?

Thank you so much!!

Happy to have helped in a small way, but...you did all the work. ;)

Ok, so you now have your CoPR document, but you have not yet activated it, correct? Meaning that you have not officially landed as a PR, right?

All you need to do is either contact your local CIC office to get a `landing' appointment, or go to the nearest land border to `flagpole' to become a PR.
If you choose to go to the border, make sure they offer the immigration services there. Just call CBSA to find out.

Once you land, you will be a PR and it doesn't expire. When you receive your PR Card in the mail (probably a few months away), IT will expire in 5 years, but your PR does not expire.
