Got divorced in India before Sponsoring my Spouse

Hello,
My situation:
We got married in court in India and received our Marriage certificate recently. I am a PR in Canada and my spouse was a resident of India now and when we got married. We have not applied for the Family Class sponsorship yet. Now we want to file for a divorce due to unavoidable circumstances.

My question:
Does this affect when I want to sponsor my new spouse?
If it does affect, what would I need to do in order to apply for sponsorship for my new spouse successfully.

It wont affect if you disclose you are a divorcee and provide sufficient documents supporting your marital status.
