Hello guys, Well i have managed to save a lot of money. My plan is though to go home (england) for a few weeks then come back to toronto where myself and my GF are going to travel. We are going to hire a car and just travel around america for the next 6 months. Which should hopefully by then i'd have my PR through (i sent it off in may)

My question is will i have any problems getting back into the country once i arrive back from england? I'm bringing my SA letter that i have got and also proof of funds. Will that be ok?

When you say holiday visa do you mean working holiday visa or a tourist visa?

I have left Canada on my working holiday visa and returned to Canada many times with no issues. I also left after it had expired and came back in as a tourist, I would not recommend this. The CBSA officer almost didn't let me back in and reduced my time to 8 weeks instead of 6 months. However I came back days after it expired, if you are leaving for 6 weeks and can prove you have funds to support yourself you should be OK. I would have a copy of an itinerary, to show what you plan on doing if you're asked.

You have to convince the CBSA officer that you still have a home outside of Canada. Even though you have your SA, there's still a chance that your PR could be refused, right? I know...it's probably a very small chance, but a chance nonetheless. The officer needs to know that if it is, you'll leave Canada.

Research `Dual Intent' on CIC's website. This is exactly what you'll be asking the CBSA officer to determine when you present yourself for re-entry.

Good luck!
