Hi Matt,

Do you think they contact field person for each express entry application or do they do it if they see any red flag with application.
Also, do field official go to local police station?

Cheers

I think just for particular profiles & countries...
Military service & gov. service are typical cases for them to conduct deeper screening I think.

Guys please provide at least your AOR and stream on the signature.
Thanks...

Thanks Matt,

Do you think even visa refusal can be a red flag? Our PR application for New Zealand was refused because of not declaring unauthorised consultant. We have declared this refusal in our all previous Canada visa applications and we been fine so far. Do you think this can be issue and red flag for extensive screening and we been stuck in security. Cheers

Ya...Thats what I thought..so how would getting the information help us?
I mean I do get the need of knowing if it was cleared by CSIS and I have been thinking of getting it myself. but I was just curious what do people do after getting the response from CSIS? contact CIC again?
It is more of an additional step we can do while time goes by I guess. If I get info from CSIS that it's all clear and my bkg is still in progress in GCMS next think would be use this info with my local MP. I never got a reply from my MP but I know some people were pretty successful by contacting the local MP. This is an information they can use when checking with CIC about status.

Very doubtful... You've declared it and it has nothing to do with IRCC so I don't think it will matter.

Interesting. One of my close friends contacted local MP regarding his study permit extension and he got good response from MP's office regarding his application. Although they did not process his application faster but he got real time status information of his application.

Yes, in summary after 6 months if you are stuck in bkg check, you can:

- email CIC through CSE
- call CIC
- order GCMS
- order info from CSIS
- contact MP
- contact parliament immigration commission
- contact minister of immigration

How often and when each one will do it, depends on each one's patience and strategy...

you can also email CIC without CSE

What's MP??
The member of parliament that represents you. You can find yours by postal code:
http://www.lop.parl.gc.ca/ParlInfo/Compilations/HouseOfCommons/MemberByPostalCode.aspx?Menu=HOC

emailed CIC and got this response as expected.

Your file is currently under review and requires additional verifications. As a result, the assessment period will be outside of our posted processing times.
Unfortunately at this time we are not able to determine when your application will be finalized, but our office will contact you as soon as all verifications are completed, or if any additional information or documents are required.

I did contact my local MP, twice. Since they said to follow up if nothing happens in 4 months.
I dont think they can do anything if the application is stuck in security. I imagine it should be a good thing that they cant influence the process. Just that since I am stuck, I hoped for some response :P
I do remember my friends were helped by them when faced issues with their study permit ( entirely CICs fault).
Nonetheless, I am gonna contact the MP again since the second 4 month period has also gone.

U R G E N T !

Guys, some of the participants don't provide their timeline in the signature.
This is a problem because whenever they make an entry and ask / comment something people using this forum cannot figure out the issue and it is truly annoying. It takes only a couple of minutes to fill in data such as your AOR, immigration stream, some updates like medicals, uploaded documents etc. With help of this useful information other users can compare their own case with yours. This would enable mutual advantages since the insight we can get from this comparative data would be possibly useful for you guys, too.

PLEASE EVERYBODY SHOULD PROVIDE IMMIGRATION RELATED INFORMATION !

Thank you in advance.

I agree with you, however, some don't feel comfortable sharing that information and some are newbies and can't update their profile information until they post la few messages (this is IMO a bit stupid, not sure what the forum admins were up to when they decided this, but hey...).

Nevertheless it's useful info and I urge you all to provide it in your signatures, if possible.
