And still waiting, but our issue is that my husband who is the PA, has both of military background as it is a mandatory service in Egypt, and also a 2 year stay in the US.
His screening started in August so it is 8 months now for security screening.

How will i knw that my security screening is underway?
My GCMS only shows PV2 groups and group# is blank, BGC IP since Mar 22

You mean to tell me people in this group are waiting since june and july????????? :o :o
That's too bad >:(
I am in the same group except that i am an outlander
Because of my previous job , i had to travel to all of the "problematic" countries for many times like Tunisia,Sudan, Lybia,Turkey.....the list goes on
Yes my friend, all in the same boat. The only thing we know is that it will take longer, more than 6 months, but not necessarily more than 1 year...

Hey Maroo, did you ever asked for the CSIS report? After 8 months, it might tell you something...

It's a good sign, keep asking for your GCMS but you are not in this group for now...

No We did not, i do not believe that they provide a useful information, however i have the intention to do that if we reached a year from AOR, which is in 3 months.

I never did govt job or military service. And I have never been to an unsecure country and in the last 3.5 years I have only been my country for 2 months and around one month in USA. It will be six month for me since AOR on this May 24. Don't know why it is taking longer for me.

Question for the secure outstanding group: How many of you have worked in the military or government office?

After 6 months (+5 days) my freaking CIC account shows still the freaking Background in Progress!
I am an ordinary guy (such as you guys), doing research and teaching at a Canadian university for over 2 years as a professor... My wife as well. What the heck is this! This is so annoying, disappointing and appalling!
As someone who have not even had A PARKING FINE in his life experiences a stone age-Cold War type of 'special treatment' in term of security inspection. This is my only negative experience in Canada ever since I have been here.

I understand your frustration. This 24th May will be 6 months for me.

Hey Man I can understand how you feel. I've been waiting since Aug 2016 as well and I know it's frustrating. Well I sent out an email this morning to Ottawa Office with proper screenshots of our PNP group to let them know that they're few of us who're stuck in this limbo and they gotta do something about us. Man at this point I just need a decision (Good or bad I don't care), I got good point (~488) I can re-apply easily in CEC directly. I made a big mistake following this f***ing PNP route.

I will contact my MP after I pass 6 months on this 24th.

I've tried contacting MP as well, They called CIC on my behalf and asked for an update. Same sh** "Security check in progress" no idea when it's gonna be done. And nobody knows what really happen in those checks. They tend to keep it private so that nobody from outside can influence that. Waiting game continues.....

Did you work for the military or government or travel any middle east country? For me, I have never worked for the govt or military. I have not traveled to middle east. Had transit once in Dubai last year. I have traveled to US several times, and some southeast and East Asian countries.

I know that contacting MP would not process my application faster but it does not hurt. At this stage there is nothing we can do. I do not get one thing is that for Inland applications the process should have much more easier for them to do everything with security.

There is an interesting reply from Legalfalcon regarding PNP secure outstanding.
