Hello,

I am in dire need of guidance please.
I have been trying to fill out the application for online submission for PR Card Renewal but it keeps on giving me the error of "Please leave no gaps in address history" when there is absolutely no gap.

Please see the table below for the dates. There is no gap between now(Oct 17th, 2022) and Jan 20th 2018 since i became a PR.

Thank you

I do not know if this will work, but try putting oct 17 2017 as the start date - just to test my theory that it may be expecting full five year period.

Thank you for your reply.

I have already tried doing that but still gives me the same error.

I would like to ask you another question since it looks like you may have the information.

What documents should I submit as proof of residency? and for how many years or months? In case of bank statements, should i send them the latest one and for how many months? Same goes for utility bills and tax assessments? Should i send them a copy of my passport and ID besides the PR Card and Passports Front page?

I couldnt find an answer to my query else where hence asking it here.

Pre-Assessed..
I'd suggest start with the instructions, and submit only what they request and require.
But the problem is...the instructions for a PR card renewal don't even require items from Appendix A, unless the PR has been outside of Canada for > 1095 days, hence nothing is `requested or required', apparently. Having said that, I would think that anything that the OP has mentioned would probably work, but would suggest sending a few covering at least the last 2-1/2 years (i.e. a recent bank statement ,one from a year ago and a third from a year and bit ago).

I'm not familiar enough, not having done this procedure myself yet, but if nothing (additional) is requested or required, I'd start with that as base assumption of what to provide.

Agreed. Seems like if they didn't want/need anything more than the required Travel History, they would require it to be included. Of course, voluntarily adding/attaching some corroborating evidence could, at the very least, minimize delays...when they ask for additional proof later.

I have not heard enough cases here to know what is better. I'd just note that adding extra 'stuff' is not guaranteed to make things quicker.

As someone who has worked in an office, a big pile of 'stuff' is a warning to stay away, and since you have some obligation to look through, not only do you stay away, but it adds time and distracts.

Of course, materials can be really appropriate and on-topic - they can help; but not always, is all I'm saying.

Firstly, this table has been the stupidest form I have ever filled and I have filled quite a few forms.
Secondly, I managed to find the issue for any future applicants. You need to overlap your dates. In case of this example, try this: 2022/09/22 - 2022/10/17, 2020/09/28 - 2022/09/22, 2020/01/01- 2020/09/28, 2018/05/01- 2020/01/01.
Hope this helps!
