Guy-

What timeline are we looking for to see a change in status from "Received by Visa Office" to "In process"? Does anyone knows this? Thanks.

Hi Forexter,

I think it depends on the visa office and some other factors. It may take from as little as few weeks to as long as months.
I have seen cases in the forum where their case changed to IN PROCESS in about 2 weeks time. Yet, we see some who are still in the RECIVED BY VISA OFFICE status even after 10 months!

Thanks MBAstudies. My office is Buffalo, but for some reason I’m under impression that they have changed the procedure and it shouldn't take long for new application - although maybe I’m just being optimistic.
Another question: do you know if I have to notify them about changes in my job situation – I have been laid of after I sent full package to Buffalo CIC ?

Hi Forexter,
I also hope they do the process faster. Let's hope for the best.
As for your second query, may I suggest you ask it from seniors, as I'm afraid I cannot answer it well.

Thanks. I'm not sure how to ask them. can u advise me please.

I suggest that you create a new topic in "Skilled Worker / Professional Immigration" forum and there ask your question:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/index.php?action=post;board=4.0
Make sure you explain your question and situation clearly so that seniors can help you.
Good luck.

I sent my full documents April 28, 2010 and received my 2nd AOR by snail mail May 11, 2010... (2 weeks)...

I applied under FSW3... has anyone else done the same and what is their timeline?

@forexer
Just like mbastudies said nothing is definite about timelines even within individual visa offices, though some appear to be faster than other but this may be as a function of the work pressure and other factors completely beyond our comprehension. For instance mine changed suprisingly from received by visa office to in process within a week and I got medical request 4 days later. What wa, s responsible for this fast processing I dont know ,I can only speculate.

With regards to your work (2nd question)I think it is only resonable that you notify them.It is somewhere in the application guide that you should notify them of any sinificant change in your situation during the application process.Moreso you can imagine what can happen if the VO calls the office where you are supposed to be working only to be told that you dont work there again.

There is one case here in the forums (pooja82) who submitted the documents almost early April to London CHC and got 2nd AOR within 4 weeks. I;m sure he can enlighten us better on this.

Dear mbastudies
i think still i have to wait 3weeks+, CIC is serving on the basic of first come first serve. my file was there at the end of april, still april april applicants are not being updated. so i am not in touch with this thread on regular basic. if anything happens, i will post here..best of luck to you. i think its your turn to be updated.

Thanks for your reply Sharmilas. I'll pray that everyone of us hears good news form the visa offices soon!!!

That's true. Even for me, when I received my 2nd AOR (file No.), I couldn't login to ECAS with it for a week. Only after a week, I could login with it.

Me too!!!
