Yes u can run two applications at a time
right now i have two application
One in Aug 2006
and other in May 2010
Both have their different status
Whenever i login to my ECAS usinh any of the two file no.s both applications got displayed there One in Process and other in RBVO

Never try to hide anything from CIC while applying for a new application just mention the file no of your old case
Strictly dont take any application back...... saving $550 can ruin you

dont do the mistake of withdrawing. I did it and i'm repenting that.
Each application is independent.

@ LondonOntario why is it that you say that you are repenting withdrawing your older application?

@ Harpreet if you cannot submit complete set of documents for both applications, how do you keep them both running? What can happen if you possibly withdraw one (obviously the older one) if nothing has happened on it?
Since both files are linked in their system, both will not proceed for the same tasks, instead the VO will ask or maybe even self withdraw the older one prior to issue of medicals.

initial application to CIO sydney, ON OR AFTER JUNE 26TH 2010 WILL GET TOP MOST PRIORITY, because on 26th june a new OCCUPATIONS LIST OF 29 IN DEMAND OCCUPATIONS IN CANADA CAME INTO EFFECT.
HENCE ALL PRE JUNE APPLICANTS ARE LANGUISHING LIKE CRAZY

@ LondonOntario why is it that you say that you are repenting withdrawing your older application?

I didn't know we could run 2 applications. I withdrew my application from buffalo. Those who had applied around my time got PR long long ago. I applied fresh to delhi hoping i'll get it before my wp expiry (For FSW2 wp has to be valid at the time of visa issuance), but this PR has gone for a toss now as my wp is expiring soon and PR looks several months away if not years.

Thanks guys for the views. I am real unlucky. I was actually planning to apply in July 2010. But I did it in April 2010 to the CIO in fear of my NOC being lifted off. Now If I have to apply again its another 1500 dollars and its a huge head ache to get all the documents back. Better wait till it comes.

I talked to my consultant, his recomentation is to wait for the existing one. I am just waiting to see what changes are coming-up in the new MI and decide then!

IMPORTANT- someone who had applied through my agent has received the following reply from the visa office- I believe it would be an important message for all of us here.

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

If you applied as a Federal Skilled Worker on or after February 27, 2008 and before June 26, 2010 , your application will take two years or more to be processed. This is due to the fact that Canada received over 425,000 applications under this program during this period.

Unfortunately, it will take longer to process federal skilled worker applications submitted under the first set of instructions (between February 27, 2008 and June 25, 2010) than originally projected.

During this time, the department received applications for more than 425,000 people, and 144,000 of these have not yet received a decision.

This number represents more than twice the number of projected admissions under the federal skilled worker program in 2011, so many of these applicants will have to wait two years or more to be processed.

We trust that this information will be of assistance.

Is it worth apply again physioguy, As your application is already more than one year old, Does it makes much difference? I was thinking about the same thing, but I am confused now. Dear honourable minister,
My e-cas status for permanant resident under FSW1(NOC-3111) is showing recieved by newdelhi visa office pending review.
My application recieved by CIO on 5 may,2010 and i submitted my full application and supporting documents on 7 october ,2010 to new delhi visa office.
I got acknowledgment letter of reciept of my complete application package from newdelhi visa office dated 18 november,2010 along with reciept of payment for landing fees too.
New delhi visa office asked me to contact them directly if i didnt hear anything in 3 months after submission of my full application package and secondthing they mentioned processing time of 8 months to finalise myapplication.
I observed that many of my collaegues under same occupation list (specialist physician) who applied postjune2010 under ministerial instruction 2 got their medical and passport request by newdelhi visa office earlier than me though they have applied after me .
If canada is looking fast immigration as per their job market needs then why so much differences in processing of the clients with same occupation ?what is the rationale of processing the specialist physicians earlier whose files recieved by visa offices later then me ?
It means i should reapply again since i am also under new29 occupation list to get priority in processing of my application but it will be a lot of hard work again for me.
I do understand that 1,44000 applications have to get yet decisions for permanant resident programme under FSW ,but i cant understand why CIO is accepting new applications if there are already a lot of applications pending review under new canadian job market needs at newdelhi visa office?
Kindly help me in this regard and do the needful.

I have sent similar mail in first week of May to minister and got below reply..

I request all the forum members to share information regarding filing of MPNP(Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program) application parallel to FSW application. Is it permissible ? What about original IELTS/PCC certificates as they are already submitted to CIC ?
