hi guys,
i myself am very skeptical about the 2 years story ........... yet worried as some of my research online threw me on the following :
www

(dot) com/2011/05/delay-in-processing-explained
(dot) html
and the worst thing is that there might be a second round of policies coming soon which would be known as Ministrial instructions 3 and issued on July 1, 2011. If this is the case then as far as i know there would be again new guidelines coming regarding the whole process.......... so when my agent suggested a second application i decided against it ................ the following link talks about the next round of instructions to be issued............

(dot) com/2011/05/ministerial-instruction-3-and
(dot) html
it all seems like a big speculation.........
1. two of my friends ............ one a banker and another one the same noc as mine (college lecturer) got their visas just last month and they too are pre june applicants..........
2. the timeline on the website is mostly a crude average of the processing times actually taken by the VO to process applications in the last three or four months .......... and if this is the case then it directly hints ............ that more the number of applications longer will be the time taken.........
3. yet another clause that haunts is the issuing of MI 3 (0n july 1,2011) and if that happens again some new policies will be made............
4. as far as i remember........ the VO was dormant for a few months after the MI 2 was issued and then around nov visas started pouring in even for the MI 1 applicants and this was happening till march/april or so ........... and now they are just concentrating on MI 2 applicants ........... mainly because MI 2 has caps and so they have to process the said no within an year.
5. according to MI 2(post june) where caps have been introduced the VO will hv to process 29000 valid applications (1000 for each NOC) out of the whole lot of applications and because they are regularly updating the count, they are surely prioritizing the new applications. I believe that is the reason they have not been very fast about doing the MI 1( pre june) applications. because as the one year deadline approaches since MI 2 was issued ........ they need to make sure they have processed the new applications and the maximum no of caps have been attained............. and this simply should mean that in the last few months of this year they have just been concentrating on MI 2 applications........ they might come back to our applications again when this year is over i.e. after 25 june, 2011.
in all this i believe the best decision would be to wait .......... atleast till the MI 3 is announced. or maybe till the MI 2 year is over .............

can4meNU,
I am also in the same boat.. (Don't know if I should believe in this 144k pending apps story)
I am hoping that some decision will be made on the pending applications around July time frame. May be increase the FSW1 count, etc. for this new year.
If no decision is made, and our applications are not moving forward, I don't know what I will do. But decided to wait till end of july for now.
