Hello!

I'm kind of confused on how to prepare the required documents for applying to FSWP.

- I got my Educational Credential Assessment.
- I have the IELTS Report Form.
- I have a letter of Work Experience. (in English and signed by my employer and stamped by the organization)
- I have photocopies of my passport, my husband's and my 2 kids'. (It is already written in both English & Arabic)
- I have a letter from my bank stating the money that I have in my bank account which exceeds the requirement of the immigration program. (in English)
- I have original birth certificates for the 4 of us. (in Arabic)
- I have the original marriage certificate. (in Arabic)
- I have my university diploma and academic transcripts. (They were issued in both English and Arabic)
- I have Police certificates. (in Arabic)


I am confused about the certification and translation of these documents.
If someone could take the time to explain what should I do with each document one by one.
Should I certify them from the ministry of foreign affairs or from the Canadian Embassy, and should I translate before or after that?
And should I certify the photocopies? Should I submit original translations or photocopies?

If someone could explain what I should do for each document, I'd be much obliged. Also, is the Work Experience letter sufficient to demonstrate experience?

Hi,
first of all all the documents must be in English , regarding the Birth , marriage and polices certs , can you issue them in English ? if not then translate them in a certified translator , stamp them from Foreign Affairs Ministry , then the Canadian Consulate .

What about the documents that are already in English but copies, like the work experience letter? Do I still need to have them stamped from Foreign Affairs and the Embassy?
I can issue the birth certificates in English. Will that change the steps?

Check in the CIC check list form for the ref letters they need copies or original because I can't remember but both will not be stamped from ministry of foreign affairs. Regarding the birth certificate the only step to exclude is the translation but the rest necessary.

Thanks for your quick response. They need copies of the reference letter. So should I just notarize that in the Embassy? And do you think that's enough to prove work experience?

You stated your work experience letter is written in English, correct?

It does not need to be notarized, just include a copy in your application package. Keep the original with you.

As much_mann said , no need , but the ref letters suppose to be printed on the company's paper which shows the company's logo, contacts, website and company's stamp.

Thanks a lot, so I should only notarize translated documents by the Embassy.
So this means the passport photocopies don't need anything.

if it is in Arabic , it needs to be translated , then stamped from the Ministry of foreign affairs , then the Canadian Consulate .. but in the initial submission it is nice to have them but not mandatory they are mandatory after the CIC approves your application

Thanks for the heads up. I'm sorry to be such a pain, but just when I start to sort things out, I encounter other issues.

My husband is Lebanese and we live in Egypt. He has a birth certificate from Lebanon which has TRUE COPY written on it in Arabic. I can have them translated. But I don't think the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would authenticate a document issued in a foreign country. What should I do with this document?

Sure the Egyptian Foreign ministry will not do it , do it from the Lebanese Consulate

I have another question.

It's customary in Egypt to have 4 names. Your actual name, your father's name, your grandfather's name and your family name. When filling out the forms I wrote the last 3 names in the family name field, and my actual name in the first name field. I hope that's true.

Then I saw that in my son's birth certificate, they've written only 3 names: mine, my dad's and my family name. But my other son's is 4 names.
So what I want to know is can they accept that?
Because to change that in Egypt could take more than a month and they need to form a committee.

1. What about National IDs?
They are in Arabic and are not translated. The birth certificates and marriage is translated by government authorities, they don't deal with IDs. So do I really need to submit them?

2. When it comes to my husband's birth certificate, you had advised me to have them notarized at the Lebanese Embassy, but when I contacted them they told me that can only be done in Lebanon itself, which may cause unnecessary delays and expenses. So what I want to know isn't it enough just to translate them as it is already stamped by the Lebanese Ministry of Interior?

I know I'm a pain, but you have no idea how much helpful you've been.
