Re: 3012 vs 3233 guide

I've been receiving lots of PMs from 3012 and 3233 aspirants. For the benefit of all, I am posting this guide to appease the minds of those who have submitted and to those who are planning to submit as 3233.
____________________________________________

Is it safe to apply as 3012 now?

IMHO, no. I am assuring you that if you submit as 3012 now, you will not have peace of mind because of the CAP. Current numbers for 3012 and 3233 are 561 and 39 respectively. Online predictions say that 3012 will fill up by December 2014 but I have huge doubts over it.

Take note of what happened to 2171 this week. It jumped from 500+ to Cap reached. Although the processing was somehow expedited due to the bulk of applications they are receiving from that NOC code. This could give you an idea of how 3012 will become.

It is the first time in the history of FSW that the nursing profession was divided into four categories: 3233 for the LPNS, 3012 for the generic nurses, 3011 for the head nurses and supervisors, and 0311 for the Chief Nurses/Directors of Nursing. Last 2011, the NOC code for nurses was just for 3012 (It was a different NOC code number though. I forgot.) and was only limited to 300 slots. Majority of nurses were surprised that the nursing profession came back to FSW this year. That's why in the first few months of the program, only few applicants were submitting. Now that 6 months have passed news has spread all over the world. For sure, lots of nurses have already prepared their ECA and IELTS and has already lodged. With this on hand, are you sure you want to gamble your chances with the CAP?

Why is 3233 parallel to 3012?

If you look at the HRSDC JD for 3233, there are lots of similarities with 3012 and 3233 especially for 3012 staff nurses with hospital experience.

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=3233

Let's take a look:

As you can see, those that are highlighted in bold are the usual JDs of 3012 applicants with hospital experience.

Can I apply as 3233 even if my job title is "Staff Nurse"?

Yes you can! The job title is not of much value to the IO unless of course your title is "Resident Physician" and your JD is for 3233. That's a different story. This has been discussed and considered a fact by lots of members of the international thread. A living example is Willow05 who is a 3233 applicant and has job title of "Staff Nurse" and already is in PER stage.

How can I create the perfect Job Description?

The JD will be reviewed by an IO who will use the JDs found on the HRSDC website. Think of it as an upper hand when it comes to creating your JD.

The IO is not a specialist. He/she is a generalist who will use common sense/logic in reviewing your JD. Avoid using heavy jargons with your JD.

50% match is what is usually suggested in the international thread but I think it's best to go for 70-80%.

Keywords and rephrasing are the key to creating the perfect JD along with fillers on the side to make it seem legit and not copied.

For example:

3233 HRSDC website official JD:

Administer medication and observe and document therapeutic effects.

Take note of keywords in this phrase highlighted in bold. Take these keywords and rephrase the whole thing to something like:

Administers medication to patients within his/her assigned unit and documents any effects on the patient's chart.

Rinse and repeat.

How can I make sure I have created the perfect JD for 3233?

Post it on the international thread and await for a response by a senior member.

E-mail your JD to noc-cnp @ workingincanada.gc.ca and noc @ workingincanada.gc.ca (remove spaces). They will respond in a few days with what they think your NOC code should be. The e-mail reply could be printed and submitted along with your application for more conviction.

You could start your letter with something like:

Happy Sunday everyone!

TY sa mga encouraging words nina nathan_drake28, mickeyboy at A-Cheng. I stay away from FB page and forum for a while dahil sa sobrang paranoia na naramadaman ko.

TY God!

Sa lahat, PRAYER and PATIENCE lang talaga.

Hi! Congratulations kase MR ka na.
Below is the link where you can find the info regarding the details on your medical specifically for SLEC BGC..

http://www.slec.ph/canada-visa-applicants.shtml

So basically, you need to go there together with your family, no need to schedule, walk in pwede po. It's on Medical Arts Bldg room 10-02. Medicals are done from 7am to 2pm. Php5250 per head for 15yo and up. Php1300 for MMR vaccine (if you dont have this vaccine yet)

Procedures are the ff:

Vital signs (height/weight)
Urinalysis
Blood test (for Hiv/Syphilis)
Eye exam (the usual Snellen chart)
Xray
Physical exam ( you have to undress completely)
Immunization interview

That's it for the procedures. You will know the results within the day. You may be asked to come back later in the afternoon at around 2pm to know the result of your xray depending on the availability of the xray technician.

If any case there are positive results on any of those procedures, they will let you know and may ask to do the test again.

Do your medicals asap para tapos na.

Goodluck!

Hi Po,

Thanks a lot po sa reply na ito. Appreciated po.
We are planning to do the Medical Next week for 1 week preparation.
My wife is concern about the question sa medical issues nya, kasi nung bata sya nag ka dengue sya, and her family has a history of diabetes. Also nung nabuntis sya, she has some thyroid issues.

Just wanted to ask if it will delay(or affect) our medical results?

Thanks po ulit

I don't think there will be issues regarding dengue, diabetes or thyroid.
What they are mostly concerned of are the illnesses na nakakahawa like HIV.

I don't think it will delay your medical results. Within the day po you will know the results because you will be briefed on the outcome of the tests. If in any case wala pang result that day, they will just call you if positive on any of the tests and you may be asked to do the tests again.

You will not have a copy of the result. It will automatically be sent to CEM electronically..

Goodluck!

Congrats to Tingskie! Thanks God next level narin kayo.
