The only thing I'm unhappy with Fraser's speech is that it took my bi-weekly CEC no-draw thrill away. I'll pretend not to know what he said and just continue to get excited for and celebrate CEC no-draws every other week.

The parliament should also discuss placing a 10 year ban on deported CECs to help IRCC's processes and melt down the backlog. I think it's no harm since it's only temporary.

To be honest the gains are marginal. 147K in 3 months = 49K a month. They were doing 45-47K a month already.

I think they were doing 45k people per month and not applications. Sean mentioned its gonna be 147k apps in Q1.

Guys can I ask you a question? I was postponing my marriage for the draws, now I am considering to just go for it. When I use the CRS calculator, I choose married and "my wife is not going to Canada with me" options, and I see my score does not change. This is mainly because this girl I am going to marry is currently not graduated and still preparing for her IELTS, with no work experience, So if I asy she is going to Canada with me, she will drop my score by more than 25 points. Now I got 2 questions if you guys can help me:

1) Am I understanding this correct, as if I update my profile as married but select the option that "my wife is not going to Canada with me" my score will remain the same? I mean, getting married itself does not lower my CRS score?
2) If the answer to 1st question is yes, can I do like that - so that my score does not get affected by my marriage - and once I get an ITA (hopefully!!), I update as my wife is now going to go with me to Canada?

1. Yes. That should be the case ideally.
2. No. If you initially show “spouse not accompanying” before ITA and then change it to “spouse accompanying” after ITA or after AOR, your points will be recalculated. If the new score is lower than the cut-off score for the draw that got you the ITA, your application is deemed inadmissible and is rejected. Also, when you put in the “spouse not accompanying” option, you have to include a legitimate reason for why you’re not taking your spouse (people usually show ongoing jobs or education in home country for this).

The only way your scores don’t get recalculated is if you get married AFTER you get your AOR. If you go down that route, ensure you save copies of chat history with your spouse from before your marriage, which is one of the documents they’ll ask for when adding your spouse to the application.
