Guys I just had a question for POF. I've recently invested a significant chunk of my funds in crypto. Can I use my crypto holding as qualifying funds? Will a wallet statement be considered proof?
Most likely not! Reasons:
1. Crypto assets are highly volatile- impractical to assign monetary value over a period of time
2. IRCC probably wouldn’t recognize this as “readily available” funds

See details about POF here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/proof-funds.html

I don’t know if you can authenticate a digital wallet statement to the IRCC or even if they would recognize your crypto exchange as a financial institution.

Short answer - if you need to prove, you can liquidate your position and if your holding the money over a short period (less than 6 m) explain with an LOE that these are proceeds from your sale of crypto investments.

Interesting question! I also wonder that. The requirement of PoF is funds readily available. A "weirdo" VO will claim that crypto cannt be easily converted into "real" currency and depends upon ability of market to buy it, this means it is more of a commodity and less of a cash based security.
Yes it’s a point of contention which will most likely lead them to rejecting it rather than offering a chance to prove.

Lol…. C’mon…. Bogans aren’t that bad
The only aussie I like is probably this dude

Their actions revealed it. 2021 is the prime example
In hindsight, Canada's job market always made it obvious that they didn't need (that many) skilled professionals. Personally, I think I wanted to ignore that because FSW was so easy and fast without any alternative from another country. Canada is a country that's first world only because of their natural resources. They import technology and do not create value besides what they earn from selling natural resources. QC is better but QC is not Canada.

"a first world in disguise" said by a canadian coworker who came to the uk. But i like places with few people and a change in location is nice for me

You're right but for me it'd be like 2 - 2.5 years before I qualify for citizenship. Not sure if I can stand Canada for that long if I'm not lucky enough to find a good job there. Citizenship app would take another year to finalize... such a long wait. Btw do I have to be in Canada when my citizenship app is processing? Or can I just apply from Canada and go somewhere else?
Not sure, what I know is you will become eligible to apply for citizenship after completing 3 years as a PR and IRCC takes one year to process the application so the whole thing takes atleast 4 years.

Yeah man and that's an impossible wait if you don't have a decent career in Canada. When I lived in Canada it was for less than 4 years and it already felt like hell; I can't even imagine living in Canada for 4 years without having a good job - "good job" is difficult to find in Canada for me since I don't wanna live in ON.

Discussed this many times here and I'm not doing it again. TL;DR STEM job market is very small (other than software & IT) in Canada outside of Ontario. QC doesn't count since QC isn't Canada.

Well, BC and Ontario heavily favour skilled immigrants in their PNP. AFAIK, BC and Ontario are the biggest recipients and sources for immigrants.

Now, during this pandemic, many folks working in retail (manning cash counters etc) helped to keep critical businesses (food shops / marts ) open. Restaurants were closed. So, AFAIK, these folks were very much essential. To be honest, more than I am.

Currently, there is a massive shortage of entry level workers in these parts. Personally, I have seen many store closing because they cannot hire enough workers.

I can see why they want to provide a path for them.

Bigger issue is, they always mess up in providing budget to process applications. Canada is perpetually under feeding the immigration system.
But the pandemic is over in the way it was and I did mention Ontario favored skilled immigration, exactly because most go there anyway. That labor shortage is temporary. Favoring unskilled in those locations ruins any incentive for them to move elsewhere. Continuing that program would destroy every other. Want to help TR? Give them long open work permit, if they can’t use that to take advantage of regional programs, and instead stay huddled up in Ontario/Vancouver, then that’s their problem. Want a way to stop employer abuse of TR? Cap close permit to 2 years and move to open work permit.
