It’s because there are still idiots in the world who believe that Canada is some sort of Utopia and they believe that their lives will magically turn around once they land in Canada and make false asylum claims. Canada still doesn’t experience the crisis that the US and Europe are undergoing because of the US border, the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans preventing illegal aliens from making such journeys. Legally, nothing will change in Canada, as no democratic country which respects human rights, will deny someone from making an asylum claim. The question is whether they will stay once their asylum claim is rejected. Living as an undocumented person in Canada means getting crushed by the cost of living without access to healthcare and other social supports. What sort of an idiot would enjoy living in such precarious conditions.

Its definitely for cheap labor otherwise they would have revamped the CRS system and PNPs years ago to target quality students and disincentivize lamdas, yet there still exist numerous PNPs targetting low skilled labor (looking at you Manitoba). That's why they keep the 40 hour work week thingy in place until the public gets distracted with another issue. Most people have short attention span nowadays, easily getting swayed by whatever the media choose to push.
Does anyone else remember they were banning foreign real estate buyers before caving in to pressure and proceed to quietly relax a lot of the important points?.

I am at 464.Still a long way away.Judging by the number of STEM candidates in the pool, it would require another 2 STEM draws with good numbers at least to get an ITA.
Tried French but I can’t find the dedication or time to give 2-3 hours every day towards it. I have a SINP Application under process, so counting on that nomination to get me through.

When the round specifies a CRS score of 481 for the lowest candidate, does this imply that all applicants with selected NOC codes above 481 received invitations, or does it denote the lowest score among candidates with the 24 NOC codes? For instance, does it mean that all Software Engineers with NOC codes above 481 obtained invitations?
It means that all candidates with STEM NOCs with CRS score 481 (Tiebreaker rule) and above received or at least will receive an ITA.
finally got invited by the skin of my teeth. CRS 481 STEM. pretty happy about it.
But I'd like to say to everyone who has not gotten the invitation yet to start french. I started 85 days ago and have studied 220 hours so far. I've finished A1 after 180 hours and started A2 around 2 weeks ago.
I believe it's totally doable to get B2+ in french in a year. I also have a friend who did it in a year as well.
Anyways good luck to everyone and a huge congratulation to everyone who got invited

They wont because there is too much STEM applicants event from PNP or genral draw. They need to calculate that and give out the rest ITA to meet the cap. While there is not much French applicant in PNP or genral draw because all of them are in Quebec and IRCC need to meet the cap for French too that why they draw that every single week loll
