I don't see how this will be an issue. There are inland people in Quebec who just gets landed virtually (they do have to provide a letter stating they do not intend to stay in Quebec after being PR though).

@cemivac I'm sure if you are already in Quebec, you can be landed as inland. Once you are in, update IRCC with your new address and an LOE stating your temporary purpose in Quebec and make it clear you not intend to stay there past your internship.

I understand. Same boat, I find Canada more culturally fitting for myself but I'd take being bored to death on a good salary over driving Uber. I'm trying to get into software, but the competition easily beats me. I think I'll finish my stuff in Canada, take my PR card and go to Europe next year on a good offer. It'd be a miracle if I found a job here in 12 months, it's that bad.

Yes, I can hear the grass growing here it is that boring!! On Sundays nothing is open here, nothing. You can’t find a freakin kebab place that is open…. What do people do here on the weekends??? I have no idea…

What kind of social activity do you need to be entertained? I'd imagine it to not be hard for you and your bf to have fun or at least not be too bored. What Canada offers is you can go out to a bar/pub/club and maybe find some strangers to talk to, or go for a hike if it isn't too cold. There are many concerts too. Don't expect anything too cultural since Canada has no culture. So I don't know, looks quite a bit like what you could find in Europe to me. It's just that chat is better in Canada.

That is not true, majority of European born people are eligible for the DV except maybe UK. I didn’t win this year but my collage classmate did las year, they got their visa last week.
How I can imagine what is coming just an example:
5000 slot for 21732 for 2023
5000 slot for 21733 for 2023 etc..

if the cap is full then no more invite for that NOCs.
Basically a hybrid system between FSW and NOC based draws.

I didn’t mean the US doesn’t accept Europeans in DV, I meant it would probably not survive a discriminatory lawsuit in Canada if there are white European countries as some of the only eligible. That’s why I doubt whichever way they try country caps, it wouldn’t survive in Canada. They survive in the US because discrimination is their whole thing.

I want guidance about the recent revelation about the news that there will be a cap on the invitation. I'm a dentist with a 487 score and as my profession is highly regulated in Canada and falls in NOC A, how much of an effect this new revelation will have on my chances of getting ITA?
Just need some guidance from folks here because I want to get prepared for the worst so that I can start some plan B.

There wasn’t much of a revelation. Everything is still a guess. All they did is allow themselves to conduct draws for singular groups, like CEC only draws but for whatever they want to single out. We don’t know what groups they are planning or what nocs they deem important.

My prediction is this:
CEC draws will continue as normal. They can't impose NOC only for this as this would decimate the inflated tertiary education sector and diploma mills. Literally 99% of universities are dependent on foreign students, they would default like Laurentian University did last year.

FSW: Will become NOC based. FSWs are expendable. The techies/managers/high earners will still be let in

Provinces can invite whoever the f they want.

Conclusion: Thousands more apply for CEC, higher foreign tuition and revenue for Canada. Thousands more go to Lamda college, those who can cut it (through connection, skillset) will get good jobs, the rest will fill the service sector and uber driver roles. Win-win situation for Canada as students aren't eligible for unemployment/disability/social care that FSW PRs would be. Looks like Fraser is smarter than he looks

I can say 1 thing for sure if you are a business analyst, I am sure you will get a job in 3 months provided you know what you are doing. There are 1000s od jobs.

But I think problem is more than that ,this is the paradox you have a lot of jobs in torronto ,you Baisically work inorder to pay for housing and taxes ,if that is the case why do you want to live there.
Now Alberta you have limited opportunities (nothing when compared to torronto) but place is livable .I am talking about engineering/supply chain jobs

kinda depends on the sort of career you have, so thats why i recommend not doing useless degrees. working in a field that supports the main industries in the province would work in your favour most of the time. also, your ability to market yourself, through your resume, and your activities inside and outside of campus
