Judging by these 2 yrs' Canada as well as Western Europe in general I'm not really seeing immigration systems that favor meritocracy over e.g. being a refugee...Identity wise certain ethnic groups are def inferior than others.

Coz of the sheer size of the backlog + IRCC having their tasks / priorities + persistent short-staffedness + emerging crises e.g. the one in Afghanistan. Imagine Y2022 being a repeat of Y2021 and look at the backlog again...

Punjabis, Bengalis, Telugus, Tamils, Marathas, Mallus all are mostly left leaning and they make most of the Indian diaspora. Gujjus, Kannadigas, and cow belt North Indians are extreme right wingers but their population is not huge. Most of these cow belt population come illegally or family based or thru business and very few migrate as skilled. So Indians may give you a perspective of being left wing but in actual they are currently extreme right wingers. India was left leaning until 2014 and things changed. Things will again move left soon.

While we are at it, why do people here think MM controls all of Canada's immigration policy? All summer the IRCC continues to maintain that it's policies throughout the pandemic are implemented in collaboration with HC and other major shareholders. I doubt any overarching changes to IRCC's policy implementations over the next few years depend on any individual person as much as it does on the Canada's rulling party and the type of government.

The mandate for Canada’s Immigration policy is agreed upon, and delivered by the Prime Minister, directly to the serving Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (in this case, Marco)

That Immigration Minister in turn, briefs IRCC and its partners, on the high level mandate, and oversees the strategy, implementation, and execution of the various Programs and policies that will be rolled out to help meet the official Immigration Levels Plan.

Ultimately the buck stops with whomever the serving Immigration Minister is in Parliament, and as such, they are often the scapegoat for any dissatisfaction people have with IRCC’s operations.

Cowbelt lol ,I can see you getting some bashing lol.I agree with you most Keralites are left centric but right is gaining a lot of popularity though, but they will never get the power unless something changes dramatically.
