I will start with this part. This is incorrect. I have been hiring immigrants that came here after 2018. Everyone requested a transfer. My sample is anecdotal and I accept it. However, liberals created a problem with housing, medical healthcare. Most young people and new immigrants won't vote for them for a simple reason; they are not getting what they expected to get. Please, do not forget one more minor but very important detail. A very left oriented society that strives under Liberals doesn't sit well with new immigrants. There are not many who move from West to Canada. Most are from conservative societies and thus, quite a lot of policies and ways of living are not accepted by new immigrants and they will support anyone who is for more traditional values.
I have one basic assertion. Whatever way you cut and orient it, if 60%+ of the population demand something, sooner or later someone will come along and deliver it. Thats it. The day fraction of house owners becomes less than 50%, it is very likely many parties will learn that paying lip service is not going to fetch them votes. They will find a way to deliver that. There are businesses who can deliver low cost housing if current bylaws and zoning is scrapped. The only reason why likes of liberals will only pay lip-service to housing while doing nothing about it is because the majority is NOT in favour of low cost houses.

Also, here is a rather interesting thing about conservative immigrants. They preach conservatism in their homes and to their home countries but they do not like to live in a real conservative political system. Why do you think most immigrants vote for Democrats in USA? Or almost none of the immigrants vote for likes of PPC? People are ... well... hypocrites. They preach something, they practice something else.

Exactly what I have mentioned before. Older Canadians are happy with real estate prices. Younger ones and immigrants are not. However, everyone (older and younger) Canadians are turning against high immigration numbers. The reason is simple. Older ones cannot get a medical assistant they need. Younger ones cannot get good paying jobs.
As much as data I have seen (polls) and voting pattern, majority of Canadians are totally fine with current level of immigration and perhaps will support higher levels. I mean it is likely that True-blows might still win the election and even conservatives are not in favour of reducing immigration. Only PPC is talking about that.

Medical crisis has existed even in 2015s or so. I have heard about patients having to wait for 1 year or so to get a MRI done when I was prep'ing to come here in 2016 or so. Canadian medical systems is rather interesting. When it comes to life threatning and critical care is good, infact very good. when it comes to long term care and quality of life, it drags it feet like anything.

To be honest, I still can not wrap my head around how come having immigrants increases wait time for older folks. Most immigrants are young, are tested for major health needs before they are let in. The issue is the other way round. Doctors in Canada do not want to provide medical care at the primary level -- ie family doctors. Its thats what messing up. There is a lot of rage about lack of family doctors in Canada. Lots of doctors during pandemic and beyond have closed their practices and there is no replacement for them. A lot of older folks are facing issues in getting their prescriptions re-issued. This is not an immigration thing. This is simply another of the unplanned nature of Canada's policies. They have not yet reversed decisions taken in 90s to reduce the number of doctors.

Market is getting better. Most of the companies got in hiring freeze mode because they follow FAANG. FAANG started hiring again, companies are following. Chin up :) You will see a lot of crap until you retire :)
I have come to believe that tech companies are more driven by their market valuation than by their P&L book. Thats why you have anomalies of being highly profit-making while acting as if you are about to bankrupt and other way round too. Companies follow fashions and sentiments of market. In a weird sense, CEOs of tech companies are basically hired to entertain the capital markets than to actually run the darn companies.

I'm hoping to get my citizenship by late 2025 before the election. The first thing I'll do is vote Conservative
Conservatives in Canada are not really conservatives. At least in immigration sense. I do not like Liberals because True-blow is more slimy than a used car salesman but I will certainly never vote for likes of PPC too.

I thought you mentioned a guy over here that left Canada because of health issues that got worse while he was in Canada? Regardless, more immigrants -> higher cost of living -> nurses/doctors leave Canada for the US -> less personnel available and thus, less care.

I don't believe that. Not after November 2022. I am curious to see the statistics you refer to, since I have had an opposite experience.

Even the normally open minded and welcoming Canadians are getting tired on what is happening. People are not anti immigration but they are anti immigration when there is not infrastructure and resources to support it

The video is from a right wing nut, but this is still very shameless, and I find these things very unsettling. No vision for life, no morals, no dignity, and no ethics in these creators.

Like I have said before, the damage some of these international students have caused, to the reputation of Indians in Canada cannot be understated. It’s not all Indian international students, it’s the ones who attend the trash tier diploma mills in Canada. Like you accurately said, no vision, no morals, no dignity and ethics. They’re going to be the first ones to live as undocumented workers when their permits run out. They’re also the ones most likely to engage in criminal activities in Canada. I think both, the Liberals and NDP have understood that it’s time to place a cap on international student enrolments.

The NDP and liberals know well about it. Its just that they can't do anything particularly towards these so called Indian "students" because that would be discriminatory. If they bring a cap it would have to be for intl students across the board, which the federal govt cannot afford.
So this will go on, they need to make the international admissions criteria difficult.

The cap is the only possible solution. It’s not always about nationality, it’s the housing infrastructure that’s the issue. Canada just cannot accept unlimited number of international students. If you restrict students visas to only universities, you can cut down on people from abroad attending garbage courses. The next step would be to cut down on the post graduate work permits and restrict them to specific occupations only. Let private diploma mills aka human smuggling rings go bust. No one gives a crap. They should also stop extending the work permits of international students who couldn’t get PR in the name of a so called “labour shortage”. There’s going to be a recession soon and unemployment is going to shoot up. The ones who couldn’t get PR will have to leave.

It's intereting to see that many mainstream analysts are now replicating what has been said in this forum for months, if not years. Just in the past week I saw 3 opinion articles in The Globe and Mail, Canada's newspaper of reference and far from being considered right-wing, harshly criticize the Liberal's management of the immigration system and point out that the international student porgram has become a shadow immigration stream to bring in low-wage workers rather than true students. People are starting to wake up.

Solution is very easy too. Make them put like 25 to 30K in GIC and allow them to withdraw 2K monthly. That way only those who can afford to come will.

Yes. The discussions which would never have taken place 4 years back, have started. I think the Liberals know that they’re on a sinking ship. They’re tanking hard in the polls. This is a common cycle in Canada. Every incumbent government is voted out after their two terms are up. Trudeau’s time is up. It’s all about what he can do right now before he leaves office. They’re probably going to target temporary migrants and international students. One can only hope.

This is a problem that will continue to grow if the current immigration rate won't be addressed. It's foolish to think that there are no far rights in Canada. We have quite a lot of them but they have been pretty unsuccessful because they didn't have a leg to stand on. However, when a foreigner goes against Canadian values, makes a video of himself and uploads it online, Canadian starts to be quite unhappy. This is where far right movement can start to grow.

Personally, I think that Canadians are super welcoming and nice. I left my home about 20 years ago but I know for a fact that back at home people would find that Indian student and make him pay for every single thing he took from the food bank.
