My notes:
- Not at full capacity but they are starting to work more efficiently despite the pandemic.
- They are aware of the long processing times, but because of the pandemic they were forced to prioritize applications, logically they have focused on applicants who are exempt from the travel ban, family reunion and students, as well as essential worker's work permits, others had to wait and are still waiting even since 2020
So their priority list is (ordered by priority)
- Family reunion
- Study permit
- Essential worker's work permits (only for applicants exempt from travel ban)
- [Breaking news] Candian border services are planning to go on strike
7 September:
- She doesn't have much news other than the info on the website but "they will be adjusting according to changes"
- Q: When will the visa processing continue; A: Family members of students below 18yo are being processed (for helping minors establish), as well as family reunion ones but "real" tourist visas are on hold for now. "We can't stop other applications, or reject them but applications won't be processed and they are on hold."
COPRs:
- Expired COPRs are started to be renewed but they must apply to the same office as they received it before, PR time is equal to the medical examination's expiration date so if meds are expired it may take longer time to issue...
