Hello guys !

Just wanted to announce that the long waited PPR finally came to me.

AOR : 09 Sep 2022
PPR : 30 Nov 2022

Started this Canadian journey in November 2019 and it took exactly 3 years to complete it.

It has been a hell of a ride, full of anxiety, anger and continous learning. Will never forgive nor forget the Liberals with their sudden decision to stop draws and rob 1 year and a half from my life, but hey, now its over.

As one of the last guys still remaining from the begining of this FSW Worldwide saga thread, I am really glad to see myself out. We have had numerous conversations and statistics done here that even IRCC would envy. Heck, they would hire us on the spot if they knew who we were.

To the ones still waiting for the golden email and ITA, I wish you all the best of luck.

Now, I will escort myself out and take care of the last steps to finally land in Canada as soon as possible.

Farewell and God bless !

Hell yeah, my guy! Happy to see the folks from this group getting their PRs and leaving this thread. I remember the times when this thread was ALWAYS on the top of the "Express entry" forum lol.

Based on immitracker data, here's the percentage of applications fully processed since April:

April: 66.67% (did not meet 6 month service standard)
May: 53.57% (unlikely to meet service standard)
June: 37.5% (unlikely to meet service standard)
July: 25.93% (unlikely to meet service standard)
August: 17.46%
September: 10.64%
October: 1.65%
November: 1.52%

Let's not get excited on seeing a couple of early PPRs.

1. Despite halting all but a few 100 PNP draws every 2 weeks, IRCC has still failed to meet the service standard for applications post April.
2. The number of applications has literally increased 10x since July. So it is obvious that you will see a few more PPRs posted in these threads. This does not mean that they are being processed faster. As a percentage, this is still likely to be a smaller number than you would want to be on track for 6 month processing.

I am aware that immitracker data isn't entirely representative or reliable. If someone has a different source of data, please let me know. To those waiting for PPRs. let's not lose our heads mindlessly tracking ghost updates and PPRs. Keep simple stats in mind, not individual cases.

Maybe I am wrong but shouldn't 6 months factor start from the time when all stream draw started in July? that's when they probably had full staff working and newly hired resources to process applications. Also when they say most.....I am assuming 80% or higher.

If the above is correct, as long as they can process 80% of July onwards applications within 6 months they should be fine. They have delivered the 6 months timeline in the past before the pandemic.

Yeah you're right. July ITAs would mean August AORs on average. Since then, it's been 3 months, and 17% of those apps have been processed. Of course processing isn't linear, so it's unrealistic to expect 40% to be done already, but I'm just trying to give a rough estimate here.

But the broader point I was making is that they were accepting less than 2k apps a month until July. And still they haven't been able to reach the processing standard (80% done in 6 months) for those. Now we get more than 5x that in a month, so it's silly to expect processing to speed up of all things. Their infrastructure hasn't magically evolved between April and July.

hey guys
i just got an update saying i have a new message in my profile, the message titre is not "passport requrest" but its "Lettre de demande" which means "Request letter" and it says "in french" that i have 3 steps to follow :
1) Inform them about any changes in circumstances
2) Passport Requirements - Determine if you need to present your passports
3) Prepare your documents (passport, present letter, 2 photos, eyes colors and height.
I think this is PPR right ? but why i didnt get the "request passport" email or letter ?
and where should i now send the passport ? the letter does not have clear instructions

Also in the section of "Review of additional documents" it says "December 1, 2022 We are reviewing the additional documents you provided" but i did not send any documents !

im really confused o_O can someone explain what's going on

Guys
Will be landing in just before new years. Dreading the cold but trying to stay strong about it.
Need some advice/discussion about getting a car.

As you all must know, getting a good used car is stuff of dreams nowadays, exorbitant prices all around, hence have decided to go with a new car. I am completely new to the world of loans and EMIs and all that, so need a few pointers.

Whats the best(cheapest) way to get a new car on loan for a newcomer? Or are there better options than this? I am all ears.

I am talking basic transportation like a corolla or something.

I haven't been to Canada, and I don't follow car prices lately so take this with a grain of salt. When I was in the US, I went to the Toyota dealer and look for Certified Pre-owned (CPO) cars. These are cars that people return after their 3-year lease expires, manufacturers (toyota/honda) check and certify they're good. They're much cheaper than brand-new cars and they are still under warranty.
For car loans, it depends on your salary. Normally you have 60-month loan, but I paid mine off in 12 months to avoid the interest fee (there's a small fee you need to pay, but that's nothing compare with the total price you have to pay after 5 years). Sometimes you can find a good loan deal that gives you 0% APR for the 1st 12-month.
