Thanks for your inputs. It makes more sense to me now. Also, congrats on receiving your ITA!

Would you recommend an applicant (FSW) with about 2 years of experience to enter the Express Entry pool now, given the changes anticipated (which obviously no one is clear about)? Or do you think it's better to go on a study visa and then enter the pool via CEC? Or, possibly gain more years of work experience and enter the pool?
Thanks :)

What's your CRS score? Do you have IELTS and WES ready to open EE profile? If you have these documents ready and your CRS is around 475 or above, personally I would go for FSW.
If your score is lower, you can still open EE profile - doesn't cost you anything (assuming you have IELTS and WES sorted) but it then definitely makes sense to look at other options.

Guys and gals, I can hardly believe it but it's PPR time!

After all those years waiting for an ITA, the time between AOR and PPR sure went by quick!

Thanks again to the many helpful members on this forum for all the encouragements, advice, tips, and analyses of IRCC behaviour (as futile as that may sometimes have been). For those still waiting, I hope to be able to hear of your successes soon. See y'all in Canada!

How long it took from AOR? Are you FSW-O?

I haven't entered the pool yet as I've recently completed the minimum 1 year of work experience in the eligible occupation. Hence, I wanted to have a clearer idea before beginning with the entire procedure. So the IELTS and ECA are also pending. I don't think the calculated score would be above 475 anyway as of now, so I guess I would possibly have to wait or see some other options, as you've suggested.

yeah, I guess it looks like you will have to wait to see how NOC-related draws will look like next year. Good luck!

Hi everyone, so I got my PPR about two weeks ago and I plan to move to Canada early next year, Ontario specifically.
I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with applying for roles in financial services before landing, I’ve been applying for positions but I haven’t gotten any positive feedback yet.
Ah. I guess you are experiencing the real Canada. Welcome! So, here is the deal. Your experience doesn't matter in Canada. You need to network and be ready to start at the very bottom of your career. That might not be the case if you are into software/tech field but for every other field, that's the sad reality. When I wrote that on Reddit, I got downvoted but it is what it is.

Go to any Tim Horton's and you will understand why colleges like Alpha College are allowed to exist...
I actually talked to couple of high school kids and they were pretty unhappy about the situation. That was back in 2019. Pretty much, what IRCC and Canada is doing right now will result in a huge dissatisfaction by the Canadians.

I know some idiots will come and be like: "oH nO cAnAda needs us". Nope. They need to keep the wages low. In order to do that, they don't give power to Canadians and replace them with foreigners who won't demand anything. At the same time, Canadians openly talk about how it's getting impossible to afford to live in Canada (see personalfinancecanada subreddit).

Here are my two cents :
There were people in the pool back in March 2021 with a CRS score of 75 and guess what... they got lucky and were invited on February 13th 2021 together with 27,000 other candidates.
I got in the pool with 382 CRS (when you needed around 470 to get an invite) while we were waiting for my wife to take her IELTS and create a profile with a higher CRS. Well, while I was in the pool, fully aware that there was not going to be any direct ITA for me, I received a letter of interest from Nova Scotia and got a provincial nomination.
So, if you can afford to take the IELTS and get your ECA now, I would say that you do not have much to lose by creating a profile in EE and see what happens. The worst outcome would be that your profile expires, in which case you just create a new one.

Thanks for your response and I’m sure it’s valid . I’ve seen people land great roles though and they’re Non-tech after landing, I just wanted to know if it was possible before landing cause I have a lot of time before I land.
I’ll appreciate a response from anyone that was actually successful landing a job, before landing, thanks.

Sure. It’s possible. Don’t need to be in Canada to pass interviews. My colleague got PR in may, got a job and moved 2 month later.

Good insight on this. Just shows how one can get lucky and possibly get a nomination from a province, you can never know! Thanks for your response.

I got an email from IRCC that my application status has been changed and in my account I have passed my medicals on 26th Oct and bio metrics updated as well. My background status has been same from day 1 "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."

Anyone here expert at stages can explain where I'm currently standing? Also does that mean I have passed the completeness check? Because I was missing Spouse Ielts certificate which I sent to IRCC thorugh a webform so bit worried if they can still cancel my application as incomplete.
