I see. It's not for us anyway. Last I heard from a lawyer, there are so many Indians in this 3 year processing lag that it would easily hit the country cap of 700/year and we'd see a big queue time in addition to the processing time.
Yeah nothing is for us in US .Because some dumbfucks fucked up the H1b system so bad it affected all of us.

Bud all that is independent of the timeline of my PR. I'm making progress in my chosen career path here, and I would have in Canada if I ended up there two years ago. Nobody is saying current efforts are going to waste (except the money people have had to spend on repeat exams and medicals becasue Canada kept fucking up the timelines of their applications. That definitely was a waste, wouldn't you say?). But you would've made those efforts even if you were in Canada. It's not like not being in Canada suddenly turbo charged my career or something. None of this is a "better" outcome for someone who wanted to move to Canada in the first place. Logic is misplaced.

Plus you seem to think I'm mad or frustrated about this whole thing? I'm not (definitely was a year ago though). When I get an ITA, I'll apply for sure. In the meantime, I don't really care. Won't stop me from trolling 75 CRS grandpas though.
The taking and then re-taking tests and re-doing medicals is definitely exasperating and I concur, a waste. I'm glad to hear you're killing it wherever you're at now though, irrespective of the situation regarding draws. I really like the thought behind the "You would've made those efforts even if you were in Canada". You're right, maybe I would've, but I think it always adds to the experience if you can go through it and think you're holding out for something a bit more than the experience itself, in a sense (an ITA through french here, or what have you).

Regarding the frustration, I'm glad you're managing! I read quite the opposite, since I do believe someone who builds their life day by day tends to overcome adversity. Good to have some clarification and hey, while we're here, might as well have fun with it, 75 CRS points or not.

Remember back when the sentence was "draws are coming back in July 2021"? Then it was October. Then September. Then "surprise christmas megadraw!". Then January 2022 after mandate letter. Then July 2022 after backlogs. Now it's pre-emptively "2023 at the latest". Meanwhile there will be a new crisis. "Christmas 2023 surprise draw!"

Positive news all around!
Nobody knew back then the size of the backlog. I would never have guessed that it is almost 1,8M people. Much easier to create realistic scenarios now than back then

Haha. Everyday it is a draw, its that after 4 EST we realize today was not that day and reset focus to tomorrow - cycle repeats.

Yesterday, in CIMM committee meeting Minister indicated that backlog will ever exist. So backlog is not going away it is just made "manageable". Backlog numbers for High skill were appx 15K CEC and 54K FSW persons by Jan, so CEC should be cleared late by March and FSW should take to 3rd/4th quarter Now with assumption of making line of business "manageable" I guess they will start draw now because new intake will come after March. FSW by 4th quarter.

With this, I think Canada is transitioning into next Phase of immigration like US, to strong backlog of applications for coming years and PR will be processed as in when they feel or FIFO basis.

Important observations from last few days -

1. No commitment from clearing backlog
2. People are more worried about Refugees(especially Afghan's) than economic migration
3. It is mandate to create pathways for temporary foreign workers and international students but surprisingly there is no commentary anywhere.
Backlog always exists though. If you look at it, they have been processing PNP for a while and backlog remained the same. It’s not a problem because that is because they process as new come in. What ticked me off about that meeting is Fraser acknowledged that they are focusing on new apps to “return new apps to previous standards” while for older apps, the timeline to finish them “depends”. So they will use resources on new apps and older ones they will get to it when they can.

Yes, i was having hopes that such news will turn out to be true, you have seen it.
it takes over 5 years the least to cut down this mess the duo trudo-mendishitno created. feels bad the future immigrants will have to face the consequences and the blame again from the system and citizens for this duo's plans and policies.

Haha knock yourself out. It's too much effort for nothing coming up with scenarios and whatnot. Who even cares at this point. It'll happen when it'll happen.

If Liberals win the next election then I really will have lost all faith in the Canadian system. My last hope is that the Cons will unseat this unqualified, virtue-signalling so called 'leader' and atleast start to fix the economy, housing market, etc. We immigrants aside, like @stirredo said, even young Canadians are leaving for pastures elswhere. What will it take!? /end rant

After the truckers fiasco, I don't think Trudeau will be thinking of another snap elections. So the next elections will take when, 2025?

If these sissy pricks used 1% of the brain cells they use to win a snap election, they could breed a more efficient system to handle the backlogs. but they won't,
I think the only way there can be a snap election now is if the smaller parties of the current government resign right? So that would trigger the "government to collapse" which would trigger another election

Hey,

I was hoping someone could help me out with learning more about my VO. I just got my GCMS today. My primary VO is Sydney, secondary is CIO. My COR is Australia. I've applied through FSW and not PNP. Most of the applications I've seen processed at the Sydney VO are PNP. I believe this is Sydney, Nova Scotia and not Sydney, Australia. Are FSWs processed at the Sydney, VO? Are there VOs in both Australia and Nova Scotia? Do you have any updates on processing speeds at the Sydney VO for FSW applications?
Seeing as you are FSW, the Sydney in your notes in the one in AUS. Your secondary VO is Sydney, Nova Scotia.
