But that became common knowledge, specially during pandemic. Several act like they are spoiled, and just because they pay you for the food or service the store provides, that you should become their personal servant and cater to them completely.

One reason is and @dankboi said this is that they are applying as singles for study permit and then applying for SOWPs when they get to Canada to bypass scrutiny because applying for SOWP with SP causes more rejection. This is increasing the baclog
Also a lot of fraud is happening with these SP SOWP applications from India which is why IRCC is scrutinizing them more hence more rejections.
I am curious to know how can they comit fraud with SOWP ?
If your spouse is studying, can't you just apply straightforward for SOWP. It seems easy to me. How would I commit fraud for example ?
It's not fraud, it's more like misrepresentation but not enough to be illegal or fraudulent. Applying for SOWP in the initial SP application lowers the chance of approval because 1)your spouse coming = less home ties/more chance of staying over illegally 2) your financial status may not be strong as you claim. So what people are doing is coming over first and then inviting spouses later which seems to be a loophole
Usually Master's/PhD face no issues in getting SOWPs but diploma/certificate people do
I guess it’s in the idea that, they planned on moving as a whole family from the start, but applying as a family causes more rejection, since to an officer, it’s more likely you plan on staying. While applying as single and then applying for spouse is more guaranteed, but it was done to bypass officer evaluation.
