does this inventory / processing queue include apps from January 2022?
Well, "inventory" means the applications that are already in process. PNP have their own quota. FSW + CEC + FST have their own quota. So I think what she meant were all of these.

Question for anyone who might know. My notes tell me my secondary office is Sydney. Is there anyway to know which Sydney that is besides a webform? Sydney, Australia or Sydney, Nova Scotia. I’m an Australian resident currently still in Australia. TIA.
If your notes say Sydney CIO or Sydney CPC, its nova scotia. If it says Sydney VO then it is Sydney australia.

Canada 'may' have passed peak of Omicron wave, says top doctor
Daily average of COVID cases in hospital still sky-high, Tam says

Canada may have passed the peak of the Omicron wave but the number of people hospitalized because of COVID-19 is now at its highest level since the pandemic began, Canada's Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam said today.

"In the weeks since the modelling update, there are early indications that infections may have peaked at the national level, including daily case counts, test positivity, Rt or the effective reproduction number and wastewater surveillance trends," Tam said today.

Nationally, the average daily case count has decreased by 28 per cent since last week. Tam warned that, because lab testing can't keep up with demand as Omicron spreads, that count may underestimate the actual number of cases.

Tam also said that with test positivity at 22 per cent and the seven-day average of daily cases at almost 27,000, COVID-19 is widespread throughout the country.

While the current wave may have passed its peak, Tam said hospitalization rates are still rising quickly and many hospitals across Canada are under "intense strain."

"Over the past week, an average of over 10,000 people with COVID-19 were being treated in our hospitals each day, surpassing peak daily numbers for all previous waves of the pandemic," Tam said.

"This includes over 1,100 people in intensive care units, which is higher than all but the third wave peak."
Tam again encouraged all unvaccinated Canadians and those who haven't yet received boosters to step up.

Asked about a report from the University of Washington saying that the pandemic is winding down, Tam said it's "possible" but called for caution.

"There are many experts in the world trying to work out this question. I don't think [this is] necessarily the scenario, but it is a possible scenario, so I think we need to prepare for different potential futures," she said.

Tam pointed out that Canadians who've recovered from the virus or have received booster shots will now have stronger immune responses. She also warned that uncertainty over how quickly that increased immunity wanes, and the threat of new variants emerging, complicate the business of making predictions.

After Omicron peaks
"There will be future variants. That's a characteristic of viral infections — they continually mutate and form new variants," said Dr. Cory Neudorf, a professor of epidemiology at the University of Saskatchewan.

"We could have a longer period where a significant [portion] of the population is immune to new waves ... We will see more waves of COVID coming our way in the next year or two, but signs are pointing to smaller, less severe."
Neudorf agreed with Tam's call for Canadians to get their booster shots when eligible. He also called for more emphasis on vaccine equity worldwide to minimize the risk of future variants emerging abroad.

"A lot of the global population is still fully susceptible," he said. "We're at a dangerous stage right now, with this combination of immunized and partially immunized people in many countries. It provides good conditions for the virus to mutate."

Epidemiologist Caroline Colijn, a Canada 150 research chair in mathematics for evolution, infection and public health at Simon Fraser University, said the potential for future variants makes it hard to know how the pandemic will play out as this Omicron-driven wave subsides.

Colijn said she also doesn't expect Omicron's trajectory to line up with that of South Africa, which experienced one of the world's first surges of the variant.
That country's wave rose and fell sharply but the timing of Omicron's arrival in Canada — right before the busy winter holidays — put us on a different path, as will the return of millions of kids and young adults to schools and universities.

"That will flatten the peak of that wave and extend it a little bit more," Colijn said.

In the long-term, she said, Canada will need strategies to tackle future waves — which may or may not be smaller than this Omicron surge, depending on how the virus evolves.

"Most of us will probably want some COVID testing and surveillance of the virus ... maybe we're willing to live with masks in some settings, and to support and want cleaner air," she continued.

"We're going to have to work out as a society whether there are mitigations we're willing to live with."

check this, is this how it is?
Hi Guys , i just heared that FSW processing time is changed to 22 months and can be even more in 2022.
So i see many telling that they get PPR in the thread . is this true or any insights.
Hey, it is not true for existing applications. It is for those who’re going to receive ITAs in 2022 & onwards. For the existing applications post whose AOR is before Oct 2021, their avg processing time will be lesser than what we saw for the 2019-2020-2021 AORs. Have hope

Toronto officials stress vaccination as province sets stage for reopening
Mayor Tory urges those eligible to book booster shots

With Ontario now marking Jan. 31 as the day some of the latest COVID-19 restrictions will be loosened, Toronto Mayor John Tory is urging those who have yet to get their third dose to book an appointment as soon as they can.
“First and foremost, this is a provincial decision,” Mayor Tory said of the plan outlined by the Ford government.

“(We) would like to see us open as soon as we can; as many things as we can, but to do it safely,” the mayor added. “From a mental health, from a business, from a public health point of view, we would all like to see us able to get back to normal as soon as we can. But to do that safely.”

Toronto‘s medical officer of health, Dr. Eileen De Villa, said the push to increase Toronto’s vaccination rate is their main focus.

City officials say they continue to put particular attention on vaccinating children ages five to 11, booking booster shots for those over 50, and encouraging those in areas with low vaccination rates to get their shots.

De Villa added that, like many people, “we are all eager to see the resumption of activity, including in-person learning and all the activities that enhance quality of life.”

She described the provincial plan as “a gradual and cautious approach.”

Public Health continues to monitor data for clues about the progression of the Omicron wave.

That includes hospitalizations.

The mayor highlighted provincial data showing between Dec. 24 and Jan. 6, “the rate of hospitalization for COVID-19 was four times higher for unvaccinated individuals.”

“And ICU admission was eight times higher for unvaccinated individuals.”

Toronto Fire Chief Matthew Pegg again reassured there are enough ambulances on the streets — 116 on Wednesday — despite recent concerns about shortages voiced by the union for paramedics.

There is an absenteeism rate of nearly 17% among paramedics — many off ill with COVID.

Pegg added firefighters are answering an average of about 60 calls each day, considered “low priority.”

https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/21/politics/us-embassy-ukraine-nonessential-personnel/index.html

US Embassy in Kyiv asks State Dept. to authorize departure of nonessential personnel
American war model.

Step 1: Provoke Russia.
Step 2: Dumb Russians get provoked and do something stupid.
Step 3: Useless exchanges of words by so-called World leaders. (We are at this stage now)
Step 4: Recall the embassy personnel.
Step 5: Make it look like a warzone.
Step 6: US army contractors lobby (or buy) US Senators and congressmen to announce new multi-billion dollar funding for purchasing new weapons.
Step 6: Send US troops (Game addicted college Kids) to play with the new Toys in the name of fighting the "Russian AGGRESSION".
Step 7: UK, Canada, French follows suit and send their troops to fight together to bring peace to "Ukraine".
Step 8: Troops coming back in pieces losing limbs and body parts. Live a homeless life in SFO, NY, and Chicago.
Step 10: Ta da we have a new Afghan.. Iraq.. Syria.
Step 11: Look for a New Market.
Step 12: Repeat Step 1

This is very similar to the Afghan model of the '90s orchestrated by America.
