My pleasure @heynow. I hope you and others could benefit from it :)

Also, thanks a ton for offering useful advice on house-hunting. Although I have started hunting for jobs, yet I doubt if I would have any success while I am still in India. Hence, I would probably land in Canada without a job. By SSN, do you mean Social Insurance Number? Does it take two weeks for the concerned authorities to issue it?

Do landlords not offer any short-term stay there (e.g. 3-6 month contract)? Would you know people (students or single professionals) who have recently shifted there and are looking for a housemate to reduce the burden of rent? If yes, please connect me with them.

Thanks again!!!
I am booking my tickets today, hopefully I will get some benefit out of your tip :)
Official timelines for Social Insurance Number(SIN) is around 20 days after you submit documents. Without this you can't work in Canada.
Usually they dont do short term, but there are exceptions everywhere, they may charge you more or tradeoff with location.....I don't know anyone who is looking for housemate, but creating a thread in this forum will be a good idea.

still waiting for PPR...!! your AOR is may.. many april AOR like me havent got it either..
our time will come ! just hang in there..

Well, congratulations to all those who received the PPR today. Indeed, it was a storm. Many many got it. My best wishes to them for the landing and next phase of life.

However, whatever case I came to know today were all outside India. Not even a single case from Indian subcontinent. Very disappointed the way PPR was distributed today. Unfortunate that CIC is playing like this. May be they have some load at VO in India. Simply declare and announce that. We are left in limbo...and not sure...when CIC will give us green signal.

To be honest the entire energy and momentum is down.

Guys,

I got the GOLDEN email this morning. I can confirm today is the rain day. Get ready for yours all ye that have been in waiting!

One interesting case: I did all my waiting time on IP1(21 days) - even RPRF payment request.
My BGC then changed from IP1>NA>IP2 same day.

Now unto the next stage; the most challenging albeit!
Congratulations chuxy12,all the very best

Hi guys! Congrats for everybody for got the PPRs already! :D:D:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Wanted to have some piece of advice
Our AOR is 6th of May, NA since 25 of June, ADR on the 14th of July. And yesterday my husband (primary applicant) had a phone interview with a representative of Canadian embassy. Besides, his former and current employers got the calls too. In few hours after the interview our background changed from NA to IP2. Is it a good sign? Or there is still a possibility of rejection? o_O Would really apreciate any thoughts from you guys.:p

@techLover congrats its finally done!! Geezz what a ride! @sam_15 I have no such wordings on my letter! In what context does it say and where?

I just got an apologetic e-mail from CIC.

"Good day,
Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
IRCC is always striving to improve our customer service. We realize we have incurred delays which have prevented answering within the prescribed time frame.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Rest assured that our priority is to answer your needs.

If your enquiry has yet to be answered via other channels such as our phone agents, paid representatives, community centres, etc., please write back to us using the IRCC Web form.
We thank you for your understanding and patience as we seek to provide existing and future Canadians with the best client service.
Sincerely,
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
www.cic.gc.ca"

So there it is, point proven. All the rude or irrespective agents are probably violating their employment contract @johnsyk
I had got this same email yesterday for my case specific enquiry which I had put in 3 weeks ago.

Dude, its only 60 days. Their promised timeline is 6 months. You cant punish them and hold it against them if they gave away a bunch of PPR in around 60 - 70 days. Their promised timeline is 6 months so you really cant blame them if you are running out of patience. :)
This is so true. The timeline is 6 months. Let's have some more patience. Agree that after approval they should ideally be sending PPR email but it's not a huge amount of delay anyway. Yes this is making folks like me anxious and tense but that won't help. We gotta wait and that's the reality.

I don't think they work weekends. Let's wait some more, have faith, it'll happen!

@johnsyk I think the point of @Pawshi is not about questioning the way CIC processing is done. It is about distributing the PPRs to "approved" applicants according to the country of origin, which is definitely not fair. This is my observation as well..However, point to be noted though.. We are *PAYING* processing fee and expect some fairness. Someone in this forum raised this to immigration minister as well ... Let us all accept unfairness rather than being submissive to whatever goes on.. We are just being honest, not impatient...

Hmm I noticed the same. Guess next week it would be different. Do you know the cic call center number ?
