Hi Dexmoody,
Yes, I set the fund to zero as been suggested and now my CEC is active and added extra points to CRS.
I don't if FSW will be inactivated soon or keep active along with CEC?

Regards,

Frank

It should become inactive if you set the funds to zero, unless you have an LMIA-approved job offer. In this case you do not need any funds, and your profile may still qualify for FSW.

If you had a LMIA-approved job offer, you didn't need to decline your ITA. Unless you were concerned about the longer processing time for FSW applicants. (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp). Your LMIA job may qualify you for the FSW program even if you entered $0. I may be wrong though.

Hello guys,

I have been working part time since January 2015 until August 2015 (with open work permit), then I started working full time here since August to present (with LMIA job offer). My total hours combined together with part time is about 1700 hours. (part time hours were varied)

Just by looking at that work experience here, am I qualified for both CEC of FSW? I know FSW requires continuous 1 year of work experience but that primary job I just mentioned is combination of both part time and full time. Also, before working here as full time, I also had a little over 1 year solid work experience in NOC B job before (difference NOC code from the current occupation).

If I put my fund availability as ZERO, will it guarantee my acceptance as CEC?

Please advice...

Thank you so much!

Hi sugoidesne,
That what I need to know too. Now I'm qualified for both FSW & CEC as you mentioned and I want to keep CEC only.
Today I sent an email request about this issue to IRCC Web portal and hopefully they will come back with an answer.
I will post it here.

Regards

Hi Linuxaway,

Please correct me if I'm wrong here.

You have initially put down some money value into your fund section, then your first qualification was appeared as only FSW, correct?

Then you changed your funds to "zero," and now your qualification has changed to both FSW and CEC?

I am also in the process of finding out the answer and I can let you know what I find.

Thanks!

In that case entering zero for funds is not enough.

Remove all your education from your profile. This will make you ineligible for FSW, but you will still qualify for CEC because CEC has no education requirements.

See http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp

Hi sugoidesne,
As you said exactly, now I have both FSW & CEC after I changed the fund to zero. Also, as Dexmoody said, I will try to remove my education qualification out to be eligible for CEC only.
What do you think Dexmoody? do you think that a good step or do I need for my education?

Regards,

Firas

Now I want to know if leaving out the Education part will be a good idea. Maybe meeting both FSW & CEC is more beneficial to the application because it is not only narrowing down to one requirement. But if we want to guarantee only CEC, then leaving out education can be a good idea too. Where have you completed your education Linuxaway? Mine was done in Canada, both high school and university.

Like I said, CEC does not require any education as a qualifying factor. Adding education is optional if you want extra CRS points for it.

But you already have an LMIA-approved job offer that gives you 600 additional points. This pretty much guarantees you an ITA in the next draw. You don't need those extra points for education.

You can safely remove it.

Meeting both FSW and CEC is not beneficial to your application. You will only be assessed under the program that your ITA is issued for.

So if someone qualifies for both like FSW and CEC like Linuxaway, will she be likely reviewed under CEC as that is what the new approach the government said they will take from March?

Also, I have used Education in my previous refused application. Is it okay not to use Education this time? (for the sake of consistency)

Thanks Dexmoody!

I remember reading about this, but not sure if it has already been implemented. Previously, applicants who qualified for both FSW and CEC would always receive an ITA for FSW.

It is fine to exclude the education in your EE profile. After ITA, include it in the personal history section.
