I remember reading about this, but not sure if it has already been implemented. Previously, applicants who qualified for both FSW and CEC would always receive an ITA for FSW.

It is fine to exclude the education in your EE profile. After ITA, include it in the personal history section.
Thank you so much Dexmoody.

Very informative!!! Thank you thank you!

So did you set your funds to zero?

Can take 24h for changes to take effect. Check back tomorrow.
Dexmoody, can I ask a question about setting available funds? If I want to be consider as CEC, I have to enter 0 in the available funds? I just finished my profile online and it is showing that "Canadian Experience Class Met" "Federal Skilled Worker Not Met". Does that mean I will be selected as CEC and not FSW category? I have both foreign work experience (3 years) and canadian work experience (1 year), I am waiting for the upcoming round and want to be selected as CEC category.

Thanks a lot.

Yes, at the moment your profile only qualifies under CEC. You will only be invited under CEC if you receive an ITA.

Have you already set funds to zero?

Dexmoody, actually I was setting the amount above what CIC is required for minimum in following website. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

But I was still getting the "Canadian Experience Class Met" and "Federal Skilled Worker Not Met" in the "Express Entry Profile Details" with that much amount of funds.

So does that mean I will be selected as CEC, or the ITA may be different from what it appears and assigns me to FSW?

Thanks a lot.

Just wondering do you have a valid job offer with LMIA?

Hello, I don't have a LMIA, only with a job offer. Does that mean that I still have to register in the job bank? And I can put any amount in the "available funds" and still considered as CEC. It seems others above all need to set the amount to 0.

From my understanding, if you don't have "LMIA" jobs, then you still need to register yourself in Job Bank. That's what I did with my previous application when I didn't have LMIA job, but still had a job with my open work permit.

Yes. You will get your ITA under CEC. It won't be different.

It appears that you are not meeting the FSW criteria due to another reason (other than funds). But that's no concern since you want a CEC ITA anyway.

Just to clarify: having zero funds is not necessary to be considered under CEC, i.e. setting funds to zero will not make you eligible for CEC when you weren't before.

It is just important for people who qualify for both FSW and CEC, and who want to make sure they will be invited under CEC. That is because zero funds will make you ineligible under FSW (unless you have an LMIA as discussed above).

And yes, if you don't have an LMIA-approved job offer you must register with Job Bank.

Thank you, Dexmoody, I just have a question regarding on the "work history" section. Because it seems that I am not qualified for FSW category somehow (not quite sure why even now), but I want to make sure that my foreign work experience can help to add more points. I have 3 years of foreign working experience as a technician (2241) and one year canadian experience as engineer (2133). So in the "work history" section, there is a question asking for "Primary occupation" and "Date first became qualified to practice in this occupation". I should put in the engineer occupation and starting date in Canada, right? But in the following, I should also included the technician foreign work experience when asking about overall work history, right?

I want to make sure that by doing that, I can enter the category of CEC, and at the same time use foreign work experience to get more points?

Thanks a lot.

Exactly. Your primary occupation should be the NOC for the Canadian experience, because you want to be considered under CEC.

Date became first qualified is basically irrelevant - I put the end of my studies for that.

Yes, you will get points for additional work experience (Canadian or foreign) that you include under work history. But you must later prove this with reference letters.

Thank you, Dexmoody. I am actually thinking that maybe the "Date became first qualified" is kind of important too. I only finish a college degree when starting as a technician, and eventually get a master degree in canada and work as engineer. So I think I will have to put on the date when I finish my master degree (not the college degree) if I set the engineer occupation as primary occupation.

Just out of curiosity, is it possible that the Express Entry website system is not calculating the correct points sometimes due to technical issue? When I made some adjustment in the profile yesterday, the points was not updated after a very long time (over 24 hours). In that case, maybe I should withdraw the profile and re-create one right away? Does this happen often?

Thanks a lot.

Yes, that is how you should do it.

It is normal for points to take 24h to be updated. There is no need to recreate your profile.

Hi Dexmoody,
I removed my education from EE profile and waiting to see how much CRS points I'm going to loss and FSW will be disqualified.
I will update you as soon as my EE profile will be updated.
