Hi all,

Just had a question, so my company is based in USA, they don't have any office in Canada and I do WFH in Canada. My T4 came and it shows province as outside of Canada. We have a 3rd party doing our payroll in CAD. Can i still apply for CEC express entry?

Will be counted as foreign experience, not towards in-Canada experience!

If you’re working remotely in Canada as a healthcare professional — for example, a radiologist using tools like the TRIADS calculator for diagnostic purposes — you may still be eligible for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) under Express Entry, even if your employer is based in the U.S. and doesn’t have a Canadian office. What matters for CEC eligibility is that your skilled work was physically performed within Canada, was authorized, and falls under a qualifying NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 category. While your T4 indicating “province: outside Canada” might seem unusual, it doesn’t automatically disqualify you. As long as you can provide clear evidence that you were living and working in Canada — such as lease agreements, utility bills, CRA tax filings, and pay stubs — your application can still be considered valid. In situations like this, where the employer’s location and payroll setup add complexity, it’s a good idea to consult an immigration professional to ensure your documentation supports your claim effectively.

Hi everyone does they recheck all Eligibility criteria such as education and work experience again under comprehensive security check even though everything else including eligibility is complete as per GCMS notes.
