Hi All,

I send an Enquiry to CIC - SGVO stating that I have already crossed my 14 Months time and still waiting for the updates.

Here is the portion of their reply.

This application is currently pending review by an officer, after which we will contact the applicant to advise the outcome of the review and/or any subsequent steps in the processing of the application. If your address, email or other contact information changes during processing, you must inform this office in writing.

We are striving to make the processing of our applications as efficient as possible. Please note that changes in the volume of new applications received, annual quotas and the resources available to process them, can lead to longer processing times. Furthermore, some applications, owing to their complexity, take longer to process than others.

Information on application processing times can be found here. Please note that processing times are calculated from the date the application is received at the Singapore immigration office.

My understanding is that

1. Someone is currently progressing my file - Optimistic view.
2. Someone is progressing my file for longer time since he had doubts - pessimistic view.

Need your honest opinions friends.

"Pending Review" means awaiting review. In plain language, your file hasn't been touched yet.

My guess is that your file is still in cabinates accumulating dust. Don't you feel bad, because the entire nov-Dec batch from Bangladesh shares your fate.

Standard reply. I got the same in January. When again after one month i emailed, they replied the following:

""Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your enquiry to the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in Singapore.

We have responded to your recent enquiry.

The status of your application has not changed since our last reply to you. Please understand that our office cannot provide you with updates by email on a regular basis, but rest assured that we will contact you if further information is required.

Repeated status enquiries can contribute to delays in the processing of a file as the officer has to take time away from processing in order to respond to the request(s).

For the estimated processing times of permanent resident applications in Singapore, please refer to: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp

In order to serve all clients better, we will be unable to answer further correspondence at this time.

We hope this information will be of assistance.""

Well your 14 months will over on 23rd May, 2016.

I also agreed with Desertfox that your file might have untouched yet.

Almighty knows what is waiting for Nov & Dec applicants

I guess shouldn't be a problem. I am planning to do the same. I'll do a landing in last quarter of 2016 (Tentative October 2016). I plan to go around start of 2018. The PR card is issued 5 years from the date you land. and PR obligation is 2 out of last 5 years. So if you plan in May 2016 than your PR will be valid till May 2021. Landing in 2018 will accomplish your PR obligation.

Anyone can correct me if I am wrong
Thanks for your reply. How many days u plan to stay in October 2016.

I am planning to stay for around 7-10 days to complete all of my documentation and registration work. I wouldn't like to drag my stay in November as I come from Singapore and atleast I am not used to harsh Canadian winters.

"Under the Harper government, the citizenship application backlog had ballooned with processing time significantly lengthened. New resources were brought in last year to reduce the wait time.

McCallum said new citizenship applications are now processing in 12 months and the backlog is expected to be cleared by the end of this year.

Dear Experts, Good day!
I have got GCMS report yesterday. I am a 29 Sep'14 applicant & unfortunately GCMS shows Security/Criminality check NOT Started yet though the due date was 03 Feb'15! I have noticed some points which I did not understand! Experts, could you please explain?

#1 : In history, Application Status 2 : App Status reason - TFR - Eligibility, Due date - 22 Jan'15 ----- What does it means?
#2 : In history, Application Status 3 : App Status reason - In Progress - CP, Due date - 01 Jan'15 ----- What does it means?

I don't know, you've got this headline or not on GCMS? "Info Sharing"

#3 : Info Sharing 1 & 2 : Type - Biographic, Partner - USA, Status - NRT, Due date : 30 Jan'15------- What does it means?

Though I gave Police Cl. Certificates with application but it shows "0"
They gave me 71 Points.
On Eligibility Assessment 1 : Status - Not Started, Due date - 10 Jan'16.

And lastly 'On Notes' Showing (in short) :

Under MI(Ministerial Instructions), 12 files reviewed,
Doc's related to work on file : Reviewed but NOT verified,
MI 12 Eligibility Criteria : Met,
Supporting Doc's of Adaptability points : Reviewed but NOT verified
Letter e-mailed to address on file and
File to Visa office for further assessment/decision.
--End--

Kind regards

In my GCMS report, I saw a note entered by VO. But the text field is blank. What do you think why its blank? Is it the VO forgot to enter note details, or it was not disclosed to me??

Alhamdulillah, got visa will CoPR yesterday ..thanks a lot for all support of you all..I pray you all reach your desired destination of Canada ..please also pray for me...
