According to the best of my knowledge... this is the First time HR profession has been included in FSW...

So there won't be too many people to share experiences here on this forum about the job scenario for HRs in Canada...

But some senior members have suggested the basics about shifting and starting again as a professional...

The suggestion was to begin with start up jobs, to make sure that you don't financially exhaust yourself...

Whatever job you think is fun and pays okay money to survive in the beginning of time is good.
Take that job, and start building your social network, soon you will be having a few contacts, and it might take up to 6 months.
Don't hasten things... let things unfold, allow yourself to become a part of the city you land and live in, understand the culture and the people...
You are not changing a Job here, you are shifting a country... and that might be pleasant or unpleasant both for the people who land, especially in the first year, be prepared for that...

Once you are okay with the rest of the things, start looking for a job in your area of expertise...

The above knowledge is the basic funda of settling at Canada...
If you can arrange employment for yourself before you land, then it is good for u...

Canada is a warm nation with a very cold climate, choose things wisely... and always remember PANICKING IS NOT and CAN NOT BE THE SOLUTION.

Thanks..it was inspiring.... ;D

But do we have to get our local job experience assessed??? Most of the sites say that its better we have our job evaluated by the Canadian standards.

???

Hi..you can take the help of agent but its not necessary. I did it all by myself. all you need to do is check the CIC website...there is a guideline to fill up the forms. Every step is explained there. Shouldn't be much problem.

Hi ,

If anyone can let me know how many points i would get for :

1) 1.5 years of experience as HR Manager (0112)

Also , i have worked 3.5 years as HR officer and another 6 years as secretary. Would i get points only for the time i was HR Manager or would i get full 15 points as my total experience is more than 8 years??

Are the points slabs mentioned on CIC website for experience only for related experience or for total number of experience.

Thanks

Hi everyone,

I am new in this forum and interested in applying FSW under NOC 0112. Hope it will not be too late. I have around 5 years working experiences in the human resource area. My question is do I need a bachelor degree related to human resource program and I will be eligible to apply under NOC 0112?

I saw the information below on the webpage of National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2011.

"Employment requirements
A bachelor's degree in a field related to personnel management, such as business administration, industrial relations, commerce or psychology or Completion of a professional development program in personnel administration is required.
Several years of experience as a personnel officer or human resource specialist are required."

My bachelor degree in science, and then I was working in a human resource field for 5 years. After 5 years working experiences, I took a master program in Mater of commerce (human resource management and industrial relations). However, I did not have any working experiences related to human resource areas after I got my master degree. So I am worried will I get reject as this qualification issue?

Please give me some advices, I would be appreciated.

Many thanks,
Dear all,

As I mentioned, I have 5 years work experience in HR area, but my current job is a research associate in the university. My question is do I need to ask for the reference letter from the university that I am currently working for. Base on the item 12 -work experience, it asks " for the principal applicant: Letters of reference from all your employers for the past 10 years", I am wondering if it is necessary to provide the reference letter from my current job position? I know this position is not related to NOC 0112.

Please give me advice, would appreciate! Thanks :)
