How did it go?

Thanks.

I called CIC, and they refuse to give me any answer due to my application has less than 11 months form the receiving date. :( :( :(
I'll have to wait to complete 11 months to call again.

Has anybody else called today to CIC? For those who passed the 11 month, I think it is a good idea to send an email to CPC as well or make a case specific inquiry.

Hello Fellow FSWites

I called the call center today since it was 11 months since I filed app (filing on Oct 24th). Here are results:

1) Call center rep said that the 11 months is not from date of application, but date CPC-O receives it (i.e. PER/AOR date) - I'm not sure if this is accurate, but its what she said.
2) Asked for last communication from VO
3) The call center rep still said that she would peek into the application
3) Said all documents received (VO had asked for resubmission/clarification of some docs, which I provided in August)
4) Said background checks are in progress
5) End

On one hand it looks like they are doing 'something', however on the other hand I had gotten email from VO saying application is almost complete and in queue for a final review. :| - I have no idea what this means.

Any other stories? Hope everyone has a good day.

Thanks,
PyrocasterX90

Hi guys,
I sent an email last week asking them to update me on my current status as it's beenaround 2 months since my third line popped up . Below is their response:

Dear Sir/Madam,

The information you provided has been updated in our system. Please note that we cannot confirm when your file will be ready for finalization.

Please be advised that no further action is required of you at this time. If additional documents are needed, an officer will be in touch with you shortly. Please ensure when submitting documents that they are still valid and will not expire within six (6) months as this could delay your application.

We appreciate your patience and keeping correspondence with our office to a minimum and up to date. In order to process request efficiently, we will not be responding to duplicate requests.

Regards,

Xxxxxxxx

That is true. The 11 months should be counted from the date application was received. I am guessing if you filed on Oct 24th, the date they received your application won't be too far along.

As far as I am concerned CIC just quote arbitrary processing times (e.g 11 months). Because I find it very difficult to believe that they are ACTIVELY processing FSW 2014 applications as they should, for such period of time. Think about it, which of the stages would cause that much delay ('background check', medical report assessment, overall review)? As for me I cannot see it. For background check (which I consider would be their excuse for delay), only if they go to seek information on the streets where the applicants live/lived would it take them (CIC) several months to complete the check.

What I find disturbing is the notion that they abandon the FSW 2014 application processing in favour of other programs' processing viz: Express Entry, Refugee program etc.

I mean I suspect they pulled away the staffs handling our applications to process Express Entry because they promised 6 months processing time for Express Entry applications.

This, in my opinion, is definitely not fair. Why would they promise 6 months for E E processing knowing that they do NOT have extra staff to handle it, but to just yank off staff from our applications to process Express Entry?

I believe if the staff were left handling our applications, all of us would have landed by now..
Honestly, influence the politics has over merit/fairness is sometimes not all the best...

Again there's only a few of us left, so our voice can easily be suppressed..

Hi, I am new to this thread. Does anyone know if CIC updates the status to RPRF is paid? Or is it after Medicals received status, they directly update status to decision made?

CIC never updates the RPRF status on ECAS .
It used to give a status of medicals have been received till July but what we see now is they have stopped giving that update and after medicals straight away go to the DEcision made status .

If you are from CPCO they have been very slow in giving out PPR in recent times but rest of the VO are giving DM and PPR after the medical are done ..

Hope this info helps !!
