well i might need it for a variety of reasons.for example my wife wants to create a profile in express entry as a primary applicant.there is a question in that profile asking her about her previously issued UCI.since we were not aware that dependents also get UCI, we mentioned N/A but now as you are saying that she would be having a UCI number because of our FSW2014 application, we would like to put her actual UCI instead of N/A.
UCI is not a mandatory field in any visa application with the CIC. Even if you have one and don't remember/have it, they will look it up and complete it for you.

Hello Everyone!!!! and Happy Friday

It has been a week since I received my PPR and it wasn't until today that I was able to send my passport... life is a big irony, 3 months waiting for that email and I received it in Philly (I live in California) as I flew that day to DC to spend a week with my familiy.

Just to share a little bit of my plan in case it is of any help. But some facts first: 1) I live in North California, 2) plan to land in Vancouver in May

1) I sent my passport through FeDex as they have been very reliable so far.
2) Purchased an xpress return label from Canada Post. A word of advice, billing address is automically populated and by default it establish the address as in Canada, I tried 3 of my credit cards and 2 failed, as the address was wrong. The third one passed, I used my address but left the City (Ottawa) Province (ON) and ZIP Code as it was by default and worked!!!
3) I dont know anyone in Canada, so I just rented a mailbox through UPS, the good thing about it is that that it shows a real home address rather than a PO BOX. I rented for a whole year (+3 months free) for CAD $190. I sent all the contract and ID by email and they opened for me. This is the adress I will use for landing.
4) Went to DMV and asked for a certified driver record, got is instantly and paid $5. BC allows US drivers to obtain the BC dirver's license without taking the test if they can prove 2 years of driving experience w/o main issues.

Next step will be to actually land and see where my next adventure takes me.

Happy weekend to you all

It is not mandatory, they will return it through regular mail, or you can purchase a Xpress return label and get in 2-3 days

I just sent a return shipping label ONLY.
that way we can track the returned package.
IF you do not send one, they will send it by snailmail.

Really? good that you mentioned that I can open the UPS PO box online. .
When we land, will they ever ask if this is a PO BOX?
and if the PR card is mailed to this PO box, does UPS notify about the mail forwarding?

UPS allowed you to open PO box over email?   I had similar idea last week & called up one closest to Niagara Falls border but they told me I can't open one unless I'm physically present there :-[ do you mind sharing store information so maybe I can open one in Vancover? I'm open to moving wherever I can land a good job :) :p but of course need to finish this process first

I don't think I will be moving to Vancouver, but as of now it is the closest Canadian city to my current home. I called to a couple stores and they said I had to be physically there to open one, but I found one that was willing to open the mailbox by scanning the contract.

I don't know if they will ask or not, the more casual it looks, less likely is that they will ask.
How it works is they will receive mail and will send an email to you informing that a letter has arrived. If you want to, they will email it to your home address in the USA.
