I don't know if they will ask or not, the more casual it looks, less likely is that they will ask. How it works is they will receive mail and will send an email to you informing that a letter has arrived. If you want to, they will email it to your home address in the USA.

I don't think I will be moving to Vancouver, but as of now it is the closest Canadian city to my current home. I called to a couple stores and they said I had to be physically there to open one, but I found one that was willing to open the mailbox by scanning the contract.

It is not mandatory, they will return it through regular mail, or you can purchase a Xpress return label and get in 2-3 days
