GOT MY RPRF TODAY!
Seniors, please advise!

Guys, I need help and advice on this one. Here's my current application timeline:

Application Received at CIO: August 27th 2014
CC Charged: November 21st 2014
PER: December 14th 2014
Medicals Request: December 30th 2014
Medicals Done: January 12th 2015
RPRF E-mail: January 19th 2015

As you can see, my application process was EXTREMELY fast. I even just got a visitor visa for Canada because I have a trip planned to Montreal and Toronto on February 3rd. I'm starting to think I'm going to have to do my landing already.

What I'd like to know is that if I do my landing right away next month, how long will my PR card be valid for? I mean, during the upcoming years until my PR is valid, what is the lenght in period that I have to remain IN Canada. I wasn't expecting having to do my landing so quickly! Please advise! Thank you!

Congrats

Dear all,

I guess we don't need to update if you guys have made mistake not mentioning US visa reject.
I was rejected twice for US visa. Once for F1 visa, student visa and next time was B1 visa, tourist visa. And my wife was rejected for Canada student visa few years back. We didn't mentioned about this.
But we have already received our MR and RPRF.
Yesterday we did Medical test and today we send RPRF.

Application received by CIC: 31st July 2014
PER email: 25th Nov 2014
MR and RPRF email: 13 Jan 2015
Medical test done: 18 Jan 2015
RPRF sent: 19 July 2015

Good luck of all you guys with your application.
Cheers

Congrats

Your PR card will be valid for 5 years from the date you land. And, you will have to reside in Canada for at least 2 years out of those 5 years to be able to renew the PR. If you already have your visitor's visa then you could just use the visitor's visa and not use the PR visa for the February trip.

George,

Correct my understanding. On or before 15 Jan, CIO already did initial scan of documents. Between 15 Jan and now is just a few days. Most people at this stage won't know the application status, i.e returned or in queue for CC/DD charging.

How did u derive to this info/conclusion.

It is just my estimation. Because one of fourm member have earlier reported that his application reached CIO on or around december 22 and got it returned on jan 10th and the rejection letter enclosed with return package was dated 2nd Jan 2015. From you can conclude that application till date of on or around 22nd Decemberr have already went through completeness check till 2nd of Jan. From 2nd of jan till 15th of jan there are 13-more days. Therefore assuming that CIO is taking on average 10-15 days for completenesss check these days, all of the applications received till 31st of December would have already gone through completeness check and preliminary decision to charge their CC or return the package have been already teken based on whether the cap is filled or whether the application package was incomplete.

Anyhow this is just an assumption based upon my understanding. God knows the reality happening at CIO.

Thanks a lot for your reply! +1 for you.
I was wondering about this, wether or not I could use my Visitors Visa now instead of my Immigrant visa... it would be A LOT better if I could just use the Visitor VISA. LOL. I wasn't expecting my Immigrant Visa to be issued this fast. Holy cow.

Hi Everyone.

I am Oct 23rd Applicant under the NOC 1212

I haven't been charged yet. Is this something to be worried?

Thanks,
Nitesh

If your CC was charged then you have nothing to fear. Its just a matter of time that you will receive your PER mail. Hang in there buddy and relax, you are in.
