Hi Seniors!

I have collected all the required documents and I'm about to send my whole package:
But before that I have some doubts, Please help me clear those:

1) I'm applying for two members: me and my wife, for education purposes Do I need to send my wife's Documents/transcripts also or is it that only my documents are required? You only need to send educational docs for the principal applicant
2) Do I need to send my 10th & 12th Mark-sheets and certificates along with my ECA report & B.E and MBA transcripts/Degrees? You only need to send ECA along degrees/transcripts
3) what should be the paper quality for Photographs? standard photo paper - takes the specifications to a professional photo studio, they will do the rest
4) Is notarization of documents necessary? If yes which documents? Please note: All of the documents I am submitting are in English Language. Notarization not needed for documents in English or French
5) My Birth certificate was issued by my nearest police station that too in handwriting( but there is an official seal of SHO), because the village I was born in does not fall under municipal limits, would that be a problem? DO i need to attach any affidavit or should I submit a notarized birth certificate copy? Not sure about this, other seniors may be able to help
6) Does my Bank need to mention total funds in local currency or Canadian Dollars? Local currency is good enough, CIC will calculate the equivalent

if u r paying it online then do it and keep the copy of receipt safe with u, may be u need to send its copy to ur VO via email or post to assure them then u have paid the fees. if u r paying via DD then make it and send it to ur VO cos it will take 2 to 3 weeks to get cashed.

btw u have got only medicals or rprf also? if both then pay the fees asap....if only medicals then wait for VO to ask u to pay rprf. don't pay unless they don't ask.

Thanks I will pay now the fees, yes I have both MR & RPRF in mail but they have not mentioned the fees I need to pay for 2 Adults and 1 kid...???

Thanks & +1 for guidance

Hi, everyone
I am a new one here. CIC received my medical results on Dec 5, 2014, does anyone know when I can get my passport request at this time now? Thanks in advance

Hi,

My lawyer is sending my documents to me from Toronto with a shipping company named Purolator. Anyone heard of that company? What do they use to deliver the packages in Qatar? I hope they do not forward it to Aramex, which has extremely bad service here. I do not want my documents to get lost. Thanks.

(I was away for last 10 days and just saw the email sent by my lawyer, whom mailed the package yesterday.)

Yes Purolator is reputed company in Canada. I don't know what provider they use to deliver package in Qatar. May be you can use tracking no to track it down.

Even the process which you need to follow after landing is also stressful! :P (like finding a decent job and buying a house!) 8)

Stress and struggle are inevitable part of routine life when one decides to migrate overseas! :o

But the joy and satisfaction when you achieve your goals are priceless too! :D
Totally agree!!! ;D ;D ;D

Hi All,

Help Needed

Only me & my wife are applying,
So some of the forms are not valid for us :

  • Document Checklist [IMM 5612] October 2014
  • Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008] June 2014
  • Additional Dependants/Declaration [IMM 0008DEP] August 2014 (only we 2, spouse info already in the above form, right?)
  • Schedule A – Background/Declaration [IMM 5669] December 2012
  • Schedule 3: Economic Classes [IMM 0008 SCHEDULE 3] August 2014
  • Additional Family Information [IMM 5406] September 2013
  • Supplementary Information – Your travels [IMM 5562] May 2004
  • Separation Declaration for Minors Travelling to Canada [IMM 5604] July 2008 (we have no kids)
  • Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union [IMM 5409] April 2009 (married, have marriage certificate)
  • Fee Payment Form – Application for Permanent Residence [IMM 5620] August 2014
  • Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] March 2014 (filling this ourself, with ur help of course-no agent)

So, the forms that are not applicable to us (plz chk if above is correct) do we still need to send those as a part of the application and mention on it NOT APPLICABLE
- or -
we dont need to send these forms with the application?

Hi Sumit,

1) If you are the primary applicant, you dont need to send the evaluated transcripts or even original transcripts or any work experience related documents at all.
2) If your ECA report shows evaluation of your B.E and MBA transcripts/Degrees that is enough. You do not need to send 10th and 12th marksheets.
3) High Gloss Best quality photograph. However there is a complete instruction sheet available on CIC regarding photo related specifications. Follow: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/photospecs-e.pdf
4) Notarize any documents if they are an affidavit, self declaration of any sort or any other document which is not on official letterheads.
5) It is safer to get an affidavit done for place and date of birth and then get it notarized. As a reference you should also attach the existing document issued my Police. REMEMBER: Extra documents are never a problem, but lesser documents might be. And providing additional proofs will have CIC be confident of your authenticity.
6) The bank letter should ideally have the total fund mentioned in local currency and within brackets should have the total currency in CAD with conversion rate of a certain date)

I hope it answers all your doubts. Other members will give you additional suggestions as per relevance.
