@Spartan2:
I dont think you need to worry about your PP renewal now. As per the trend after receival of application it takes 100-120 days to charge and later additional 1-2 weeks for eligibility. After this if you get through (called PER) your file will be transferred to respective VO at this stage you could change PP.

This is my opinion, seniors comments???

Optimist3, where are you? Need your attention here now...a fresh charge for 2174

I am here!! Fantastic News!! Now we could say, the last cap update of 2174 was based on completeness check. So, we can guess that still there are about 100-150 guys who can get charged and receive PERs. Congratulations Guys!!

Thanks for alerting me..

You need a valid regular passport - so it is not an issue.

I suggest you to renew the validity now so that when you get PER, you can update your local VO.

Note that your VO will give you one year visa to enter Canada; unlike embassies of other countries, Canada don't issue more visa period beyond the validity of passport. So during getting visa, if your passport got 3 month validity, canadian embassy will give you 3 month validity and not 1 year validity.

Hi Seniors,

I would like to confirm your point of view and also check if someone had a similar situation as mine.
My application was filed at CIO on August, 6th , however my passaport validity date expired in March 2015. Do you think this is a problem and that I should renew my passport before being charged the fee / receive the PER? Do you believe this expiration time being in 03/2015 could be a problem that would prevent me from being charged and receiving the PER?

What are your thoughts on that?

Thanks for your advices!

Highly Esteemed Forumites...CIC has not given us a CAP Update so far. Are they proving Unpredictable?

Buddy,
You need to have the first entry to Canada done before the time your medicals are 1 year old.
Looking at expiry, even if the visa process is too swift, you would probably have issues with the expiry date. You need to get it renewed and update local VO when you get PER and file is transferred. Dont wait if PP process takes long time at your native country.

I am not sure about the eligibility requirement at the first step with CIC though - was it one year or 6 months that CIC expected the passport to be. Can someone enlighten?
