Hi All,

I am new to this forum. My app got received on 18 June under 2174 category (mode of payment - DD). I have already updated the SS.
Anyone else from same date under 2174? Would like to be part of a WP group for 2174 if we have any.

Please find the answers inline

1) What is the probability that my application will be inside the CAP ? -->> It depends on which category (NOC) you choose to apply in. If you apply under some NOC which is not quite "hot" you can easily expect to be in the CAP.

2) I plan to go for a consultancy to help me in the complete process. Their charges amount to Rs. 70K. Is this wise? -->> This is a very personal decision. As per my opinion, If you go through this forum (check the question/answers of previous applicants) and also thoroughly go through CIC's website for FSW program, you would get ALL the information that is required to file your application. In my personal opinion, Consultants charge hefty amounts and are not that useful either. No one can prepare your file better, than you your ownself.

3) When do I need to take the IELTS test? -->> You need to take "General Training (GT)" IELTS as soon as possible. Because you will need the original IELTS transcript to be sent along with your FSW application.

I am in the IT field, so I guess I may fall under 3-4 categories. One of them 2174, I hear is very hot. I have 7 years experience.
Also I heard from a consultant that I would need the IELTS transcript in the second stage of the process which is around 2-3 months from the starting date.

is there any harm in typing of half form and writing with pen half of the form, space not sufficient in some places to type

Thanks everyone, especially for the +1s! Feeling so blessed already! Now I need to focus on work to take my mind off this for 3 months. I will be checking back and updating my received date/signed by... frequently.

Your consultant is wrong. You will need IELTS with the initial package. Your application will be rejected without it.

The CAP is most likely over for 2174 as of now. Also, its too late for 2173.

It would be the best case if you could fit yourself to 2172.

Guys, My friend's application reached CIC on July 23 (NOC 2173). What is the likelihood that his CC will be charged ?
