10-15 days is not what I think. It is as per SS and by past experience that I am saying.

Ashif / Century had also mentioned the details of the process for DD encashment which takes more than 3-4 days.

Mambo, A normal local DD in India takes about 1-2 days to clear. Here we are talking about an international DD with correspondent banks, Canadian central bank, Indian Banks, Outward remittances from Indian Banks, Time difference between India and Canada and other factors which needs to be taken into consideration for arriving at total time taken. I am myself working in a reputed bank in India and know for sure how long it takes for simple plain Push outward remittances initiated from India. In case of a foreign DD, it is a pull outward remittance where the transaction is initiated at the foreign bank and not in india. Hope this clarifies.

I think there are 2 different things that are getting mixed up here. I said that the average time difference between the receipt of PER of those people who paid by CC as compared to those who paid by DD is 3-4 days. I do agree with you that depending upon the foreign currency demand draft clearance methodology adopted (Cash Letter Arrangement (CLA) , Direct Collection Arrangement (DCA), Final Credit Services (FCS)) the clearing time can be between 7 to 9 days (top it with some "cooling period" of few additional days)..So essentially, yes it takes much more time than CC, but again, the "average" time difference between the CC and DD candidates in receiving their PER, i think is 3-4 days only (*I might be wrong **I too am in banking, worked for one of the biggest banks in USA for over 8 years and then for some European banks too)

Hi Seniors,

Desperately need help here...I got my PER yesterday and when I log in to ECAS, it says that record not found. However, on the PER email it does say that my application is under process now.

Please advice on this. Do I need to use a "-" between 8 digits of UCI while getting in to ECAS?

Thanks in advance and waiting for someone to pitch in a helping response.

I will update it on spreadsheet in a while.

Please try tomorrow or sometime this week, your records seem to be not updated yet from the system.

Don't panic. This CAS system is a dinosaur. It will need to be updated first.

I am not sure what you are saying about NOC 2172, but this NOC is still open and if you apply right away, chances are good that you might make it.

Hi All,

My CC was charged on 29th September, still I have not received PER.
Is it just me getting nervous or there is a delay in handing out PER's

Thanks

What is your ECAS status ?

Hi brother,
You need to enter the uci num directly but in the place of last name try entering the full name that u mentioned in the form I had done the same mistake and was struggling for 3 days after per but then I did trial and error and figured out myself.... hope it helps
