Brother,

SGVO has started to send MR and ECAS updating in a full phase from last week...if the pace is continued then FSW13 will be touched very soon....Which will be definitely a good environment for FSW14.....You FSW14 may not have to wait like us.....

A ray of hope.....:D

A very good news for you bro Ashif, and bro Century who is relentlessly helping the boarders even knowing that all onboard will at some time leave him behind.
But this news brings a breathe of fresh air for all our SGVO brothers and sisters.

I took knowingly the number of apps received and not the number of apps that reported PER. The reason, as mentioned in my post, is that I estimate around 25% of the people who initially put an entry into the spreadsheet do not update it once they get charged or receive PER. You can see for example that around 25% of the first week May applicants did not enter any update into the SS even though they all should have received an update by now. If you check when the last week 1 applicant reported PER, you will find that entry many weeks ago.

This is why I believe taken all apps by May 22 (leaving buffer for those who already received PER for May 23/26) is closer to the real data than only taking those that reported PER.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. +1 for your efforts

Agree with Century you missed Additional Family information. Just complete that & the rest should be the same except fill new forms whcih are changed.

Folks,

I had a quick question regarding employment letter. My current job is the one that's providing me all the experience points for the NOC, and hence, is very important.

I couldn't get a letter from HR describing my job responsibilities, since that would mean I'd have had to involve my service line lead - whom I really distrust. So, instead of that, this is what I'm doing:
1. Got an employment letter from HR which states tenure and designation
2. Attaching salary slips/appointment/promotion letters, etc.

3. Listed my job responsibilities on a "Company Letterhead" and asked my manager to sign it - got him in confidence to keep it secret. Got the company letter head from a friend in HR.

So, the question is related to #3 - Now that the letter is on company letterhead, but signed only by my manager (not by HR) - Do I need a separate affidavit explaining that I don't have a letter from HR (per this link: www . fsw2014 . info/reference-letter-problems/)

Any thoughts? Thanks for the help guys! I am nearly reaching the milestone, and hopefully will have a entry in the sheet in 3-4 days :)

Thats perfect. Ensure you get your supervisor who is giving you the letter to put in his phone number or email, just in case CIC wants to contact him.

Thanks Optimist! I have added his complete contact information and planning to attach his business card as well, along with his ID card scan (haven't asked about ID card, but I'm sure he'll agree when I offer a glass of scotch ;) )

Is the business card with the reference letter a <MUST>

No, its not a mandate. It was suggested by my consultant so i thought why not add it in second time.

LANDING EXPERIENCE

Hello Folks!

I am back from Canada. It has been quite a while since my last post. I was busy with some travel and the Canada landing. Here is my landing experience.

I landed in Canada on 26 August 2014. I was already in UK for a trip, so I took a flight from London to Toronto. The flight was via Montreal. My destination in Canada as per my application was Calgary.

I landed in Montreal and was done with my immigration /landing formalities in a short while. The wait in the queue took an hour ..the immigration formalities itself took 15 minutes. I had nothing with me, just a small bag and no funds , no list of items to follow.

Immi Officer: How much funds are you carrying funds with you?
Me: Zero. Only cards.

Immi Officer: Okay. So how much money do you have at your disposal to be transferred to canada for your settlement?
Me: 30,000 CAD

Immi: Any goods to declare?
Me: Nothing.

Immi: ( Looking at my bag) Is that all you luggage ?
Me : Yes.

Immi: Any goods to follow?
Me: May be some items. My wife will landed later so she will get them

Immi: Address in Canada?
Me: ( my sisters address)

And that was it. He gave me the welcome to canada look and the book Smiley
Next day I rented a car and went to Service Ontario office. Got my SIN in 5 minutes. Checked a few banks for accounts,CC, etc.
Stayed in Canada for 7 days as a tourist. And returned. My sister will send me the PR card by post later.

If anybody has any queries regarding landing, feel free to drop me a line.

Good luck to all.

Regards

Side Note: This is a clear evidence that we don't need to carry any POF with us in the form of Cash / DD / TC but carrying only Debit cards / bank statement will suffice provided we convince the officer that we have minimum funds at our disposal which can be transferred to Canada.

+1 for the sharing
Another factor that helped him, is he had a relative back in Canada. So i am not so sure, if you can have zero CAD(bucks) with you when you land. :)
