Hi All,

I'm a 13th May applicant got the UCI a month back. But when I check the status on cic website, its "IN PROCESS" and if I click on that it states "We received your application for permanent residence on May 13, 2014.

Can anybody tell in how much time my application will reach NDVO.

B.T.W. i have been seeing the term "PER" & "AOR", what does it mean.

Difficult to answer without seeing the actual reference letter. Generally technical terms ARE good. The more specific and detailed the letter is the better. You mentioned few key words...compared to what? and how few?

Thanks for the response, I mean key words compared to the job description under that noc. The letter is quite detailed e.g it mentions software he implemented and maintained but doesn't specify that they are software but assumes the reader knows this.... Some of the details are designing ip and mpls networks, implementing solutions on the network core and responding to security issues.
Maintaining and supporting quality of service for the mpls
Designing routing architecture......

I am trying get my employment/experince letter from my company.
the CIC site say it has to be signed by supervisor.
Does it mean that i have to get it signed it by my current reporting manager( he may not have been my manager for the entire tenure of mine in the co.
Is the signature of HR of the company acceptable ?
I have been really long in this company do i need to get details of all my jobs for last 9 years + seperately, that may run into almost 2-3 pages. is this acceptable ?
I have been in my current company for last 9 years and 8 months. Do i still need to get experience letter from my previous company for the less 3 months to make it 10 year ?
any suggestion in this regards is greatly appreciated.

[size=10pt]it is equally good to get it from your current supervisor or your HR if your reference letters stating following information

Your specific period of employment
Your detailed Job Duties in each position worked in the company(preferably in alignment to NOC you are applying)
Your specific period of time spent in each position.
your total annual salary
your working hours per week / mentioning you were/are a full time employee.

it does't matter how long your reference letter may be but it should describe all the above information.

with 6 yrs plus exp you will get maximum points. so need not to bother yourself for getting detailed experience letter from a company u worked for 3 months. but get minimum documents to prove that u have worked in that period of 3 months. [/size]

Will it be an issue if there is no date of opening even if the account is already 2years old? Because the format of the bank certificate doesn't have the portion of the date of opening?

Good evening all,

I would like to apply for immigration to Canada as a skilled worker. However, I have a few questions that need to be answered before I can officially work on my application:
1- My name in my old passport was spelt as Sara Abdul Manam Alhaj. It was spelt the same way on my BA degree, which I obtained in 2009. However, upon the renewal of my passport in 2010, I requested the Consulate General of Syria in Dubai to have my name spelt as Sarah Abdul Munem Al Haj in the new passport. Hence, my name in my current passport is different from my name on my BA degree, for which I am required to obtain an ECA report. Is it a problem that the spelling of my name on my degree, transcript and ECA report is different from that in my passport, national ID and other documents? If it is a problem, what am I supposed to do to solve it?
2- Regarding the national ID that we have to provide a copy of, is it the same national ID issued by the Emirates Identity Authority?
3- I was married in Feb and divorced in Aug, do I have to include both the marriage and divorce certificates in my application?
4- I studied English Language and Translation at Ajman University, am I still required to sit for an IELTS test?
5- About my travels, there were times when I traveled to a certain city in a country but visited other cities for a day or two. Am I supposed to include the names of all the cities I visited? If yes, can I write them all in the same slot?
6- What is the number of Al Taawun Street in Sharjah?
7- Are postal codes used here in the UAE?
8- Can I provide a copy of my Individual Civil Registry Record instead of my birth certificate? I cannot obtain a birth certificate due to the current situation in my city of birth, which has fallen under the control of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
9- What are the documents that I need to provide the original copies of?

These are my questions so far and I would really appreciate your help!

Hi, Before your file is transferred to VO you will receive an intimation that a 'positive determination of eligibility' has happened for your file. That is called PER or Positive Eligibility Review. First when you have that, then need to worry about other next steps. Ignore AOR for now, it is not much 'value add' anyways. Good luck!!

"Based on a review of the information you have provided, your application has received a positive determination of eligibility to be processed on the basis of work experience in an occupation specified in the Instructions issued by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism and published in the Canada Gazette on May 1, 2014. However a final decision on your eligibility to be selected as a federal skilled worker will be made by a visa office"
