Thanks buddy, for your prompt reply. The issue is, actually he has just started with his first venture and it would take almost till May '15 to finish, then be sold after that. So for all practical purposes, he is constructing a house, in his own name, using his own resources- which he obviously plans to sell to generate money- but on the face of it, he's just constructing a house for himself. Get what I mean? There's nothing per se right now that suggests he's doing this as a business. Hence the predicament.

I think your cousin would certainly be categorized as self-employed. I am not sure what needs to be submitted to the VO but since the VO would be local, he/she would probably know the market and will be able to give direction as to what needs to be submitted as employment documents in this case? Also, one option would be to show proof of purchase of new property, contract showing construction work, sale proof (if any), and license or whatever is required to enter this kind of business (if any)?

Just out of curiosity, was there something "special" about your application? Like something that you didn't have exactly as CIC asked for?

I don't know if I made a mistake in preparing my file. I tried to do my best.

It is a letter that you write on your own. If you have to explain some part of your application, and it can't be done in the application forms themselves then you write a cover letter to explain the situation.

Hi Seniors!!

I am in a very very stressful situation.

Proof of settlement fund is in a joint account with my wife.I just realised that the bank account has my wife's name with her married surname in the joint account holder's name. All her other documents are in her maiden surname as she does not wish to change her surname post marriage.

So now all docs we are submitting are in her pre marriage surname but just the POF document is in her married surname. Do we require to submit an affidavit? Wht do we write in the affidavit as this is not a change of name, just a case of one document with her married surname that we had to do as the idiot bank manager insited that the acc has to have her married surname. Please help, I wanted to send my docs out this week

You can transfer all your fund into a single account with your name only...take the balance certificate from the bank and send it.

hi everyone,

My wife is the principal applicant and has 8 yrs of wrk experience which includes 2.5 yrs in HR and 5.5 yrs in Operations. She hasn't been working since May 2013. Hope that isn't a problem applying for FSW 0112 code under HR????
We have managed to get the WES which states that her education is equivalent to Master Degree and also got the reference letter from her previous organizations as per the format mentioned on CIC website.
We are done with all docs except POF, Ielts exam scheduled for 20th Sep and relative docs.

cover letter is an explanation of something that you think/know can cause an issue for your application

DD charge date 10-09-14.
Application received date : 22-05-14
NOC : 2172

Guys some help needed...

During this time i was blessed with a baby.
I want to include him in the application. The mail asks to inform the visa office of any changes in the application but havn't provided any id.

1.) Should i reply to the PER mail or to NDVO (mail id needed) ?
2.) I changed my address and wife's surname also during this time. Will this affect/delay/cancel the application process ?
3.) or Should I wait for MR request to give above details ?

HI ALL,

I AM NEW TO THIS FORUM AND I WOULD LIKE TO GET SOME INFORMATION. I SAW ON THE CIC SITE SOMETHING PERTAINING TO EXPRESS ENTRY, DOES THIS MEAN IF I SEND MY APPLICATION IN NOW THAT I WILL TAKE LONGER THAN 6 MONTHS TO HAVE IT PROCESSED OR DO I NEED TO WAIT TO JANUARY TO SUBMIT MY FORMS TO QUALIFY FOR THE EXPRESS ENTRY. THIS IS BECAUSE I HEARD IT TAKES ABOUT 23 MONTHS ORIGINALLY TO MIGRATE TO CANADA FROM NIGERIA IF ONE IS NOMINATED AT ALL.

It shouldn't be a problem. Just give whatever he has at the time VO asks for updates. He could even write currently unemployed if he prefers that. It shouldn't have any negative impact on the application. However, it is always better to be honest with the VO.
