Hi Guys,

I am wondering how CIC verifies the employments/job experiences? Do they ask company/manager by email or they verify physically arriving at the office?
For few of my friends, CIC did not ask anybody about their jobs. Depending on reference letters, they got PR. Can anybody pls share his/her experience in this regard? My Manager who gave me ref. letter has jumped to other company !

Cheers! 8) 8) 8)

One of my job application letters was requested last year, I have to inform my former supervisor about a possible call to him. I received my PER last week. When should him be expected to get the call? Does anyone knows if the consulate solely verifying job duties OR the actual recommendation on job performance etc?

By the way, usually how long does it take for CIO to transfer the case to the designated visa office?

Thanks.

Requested by whom ? The VO ?

It is not necessary that he will receive call. It will depend on VO who will review your file. If he/she does not feel need of it then might not be contacted.

that too with emails or phone calls, and not Physical visit... ;)

The method by which CIC may verify your references could be a phone call or a walk-in, no body knows for sure. People that I know personally, were never put up for verification before receiving their PRs, but that should never be taken as a common indicator.

If your documents are solid, you have nothing to worry about.

As far as supervisors and reference points changing their contacts are concerned, the VO will probably approach you for an updated info should they fail to contact the person on the provided contact number. Remember, this process only takes place in your Local VO (post file transfer) and therefore they can always approach for anything that they need updated in the future (ex: PCC/Bank Statements/Payslips for the Current Job etc).

No. I worked in a Taiwanese company, the supervisor wrote the letter for me. He gave his personal cell phone number on the letter and, he has a common Taiwanese practice - do not answer phone calls from unknown numbers. I afraid the consulate cannot reach him via that phone and called HR. HR refused writing a letter for me citing company policy. If they do call them, my supervisor might run into trouble with HR.

Physical visits are also on the cards. Specially for NDVO , since the nationality and VO of the applicant is the same country.

Okay. Let me get this straight: Your supervisor gave his attestation on your job reference but does not wish to be contacted for verification. Your HR does not want to give you any reference and does not want the supervisor to do the same even on a personal note?

Did you not include a cover letter stating that the reference could not be obtained from the hiring company ?

All said and done - basically both parties do not want anything to do with it. If the VO calls for verification (or has already called) - I do not see a way out.

So you mean to say, NDVO do come visit for one sitting at far end of India ???
that scares me out :o

There have been a few people from India who have reported Physical walk-ins in the past in the 2014 timeline. If i remember correctly, it was probably for their current job in which they were working as walk-ins for past employers would not serve any purpose.

Check the card limit
Or ask your friends to do on behalf of you, in exchange you pay them... ;D

One of my friend also applied on 18th August. He is also worried. His consultant inform him that his file might be returned if the cap is fulfilled for 2173. I guess it won't even take July candidates. The cap will be filled in June.

Sad. But True Fact. It is already near 200 till it started 20th May candidates.

Guys.. I am not asking any questions this time...

I am asking for a tip this time !!!! How to control my nerve for this waiting period... I am 20th August applicant (NOC-2173)... I know I have a long period to wait.. but whether I am going to run out of cap limit or not.. this thought is killing me... so guys is there anyone who is on the same state like me... please suggest some tips so that at least I can sleep well :P

I don't know why you guys are worrying so much and bearing such negative thoughts!!

I am 21st August applicant, that too for 2174!! :P ;D

I'll give you a little theory, first quoting 2 points from your post 1. till 20th May 200, 2. Cap will be filled by June, won't take even July apps

Now here's the thing, the Rush of apps is so high in the starting 2 weeks (say till 20 May) that seems you don't even have a clue about this, I recommend check out the Charts in the Spread Sheet for a start.. you can also download the sheet and filter the apps by your NOC and check out no. of apps each day for your NOC as well!! (eg. 23 apps alone received on a single 7th May day from sheet itself)

Anyways, let's forget this rush period and go by the standard average everyone usually uses, even if 200 is considered as average for every 15 days if not 20, Cap will still survive till mid of July!! ;)

Moreover, since the average will not be so high post mid of May, the game will last much longer then mid of July!! If you believe me, you are totally safe!! 8)

If you don't, keep worrying till you find out!! :P :P

Chill & good luck!!
