Hi Guys,

Please can someone respond to my query i posted earlier:

I am new to this grp and yet to send my application for FSW. I have question here, i am indian citizen and working in Sinagpore since last 4 yrs, i want to know which visa office should i choose for my application, i have heard that Singapore Visa Office is damm slow and still almost all FSW 2013 applicants are waiting for their MR request and they are damm frustrated and suggesting me not to specify SGVO office, just want feedback from seniors here that is it ok if i specify New Delhi VO, what is the process after that once mine application is selected, do i need to travel to Delhi often along with my family or if i need to deposit my passportport for visa, do they hold the passport for long time as i wont be able to travel back to singapore without passport or what could be problems with that i might need to face.

Looking for suggestions, please suggest.

Thanks in advance.

If you are in Canada with either single or multiple entry visa AND you have legal status in Canada, you can select CPC-Ottawa as your VO. But if you are out of Canada, you can not select CPC-Ottawa though you have visa on passport. :( :( :(

Dear visitor visa is for six months even with multiple entry you cannot stay for more than six months. However for selecting cpco you should be legally entered in canada for atleast one year. You cannot select cpco with tourist visa

;D don't worry, it takes time to arrange all the documents. but never stop trying coz slow n steady always wins the race :)

Vicksap,

If you choose NDVO, you may have to consider two issues; first one is to appear for interview in India if asked for and second one is to submit passport at NDVO for visa stamping. First one shouldn't be a big issue as you can travel for couple of days to appear for interview if asked. The second issue is little bit complicated; either you will have to travel to India to submit your passport at NDVO and wait for passport return which could time anywahere from 30 to 60 days or you send your passport by hand with someone who can submit your passport at NDVO and you stay in Singapore without passport until someone pick-up your passport and bring it back to you in SIngapore.

Few expats chose NDVO as their visa office and they somehow managed to tackle these issues. You must raise your concern on FSW 2013 thread to get more insight.

"When you submit your application to the CIO, the expiry date must be at least five months into the future. "

when this is clearly mentioned on the guidelines of submitting the application, why did you even send a 3 month DD & worrying now!!?

Does your DD clearly mentions a 3 month expiry date?

Actually I was not sure of the expiry so checked up with my bank... They say that my DD has already been encashed. But I have heard nothing from CIC about it. Please guide me for the same...

thankssss!!!

I am curious, if someone had multiple entry visitor visa to canada, could he pick his visa office as ottawa instead of delhi.
I see that ottawa seems much quicker.

thanks,
Vishal

Nope...You need to have resided in a particular country for 6 months before you can chose that as your Visa office.
You have to show proof of residence for that country too.
As a visitor to Canada you can not stay for more than 6 months.
I am facing the same problem.

@ gaganp

With recent uptick in speed, hopefully it will be processed by then

Don't know wht will happen if its opened after expiry, as CIC has asked for 6 months.......... u shud have used 6 month DD

Btw is 3 month expiry written on DD??? if not u can contact ur bank to extend the validity (if possible)

Otherwise, u can email CIC n ask them to deduct ur fee & also tell them tht if ur file is returned due to incompleteness u won't ask for refund (lil out of the box thinking but can't think of better solution, if CIC agrees to locate ur app and agree to deduct)

Yes DHL transfers to third party.
FedEx and UPS are better options in this case.

Yes, I'd used UPS. It's dispatched on 18th evening from here, reached on 21st Canadian morning!!
