You are eligible if you have at least one year of continuous full-time experience in one of the eligible NOCs, the list of which you can find here (be sure to expand the list to show all 50). 0512 is not eligible. 0015 is eligible. See if you can reasonably fit your job duties letter into one of the eligible NOCs while remaining honest.

In addition to the minimum eligibility requirement, you can get points toward the pass mark for experience in any NOC that is at skill type 0 or skill level A or B (that includes 0512).

To match NOCs with your jobs, look at the lead statement (top paragraph) and description of job duties. Your title and the other requirements like which degree, etc are irrelevant.

Good luck.

Thanks for your answer, future-canadian. I'll send my application under 0015. Several main duties for 0015 NOC occupations are included in my reference letter, so I hope this will be acceptable.

So finally CIC declared new opening from 1st May -2014.

I have created this thread for helping each other --could be anything-form filling up,POF queries, mental support etc .

Since this year 50 category will be open having a max cap of 1000, so this will bring more opportunity to be a successful applicant for an period.

Wish every of u have a successful dream to live on the land of maple leaf country very soon.. :D

Dear Asif,

Will like to ask you for a generalized opinion for filing Immigration. My IELTS exam is scheduled for October 18th ,2014. Currently my points total is 44, Expected points from IELTS - 23 and date for result for IELTS would be Nov 1, 2014.

I am from India, and would be filing under NOC 2171. My main concern would be will I be too late to send in my Application to CIC by 1st November,2014..
Because, I am thinking to hire David Cohen's Law firm for filing my documentation , and completing all documents by then along with WES Certificate Evaluation Certificate.

So that if I score enough in IELTS for 23, then I can send the application right away.
Is taking the gamble of hiring Consultant worth a risk at so later stage, because if I dont get 23 points from IELTS exam, I wont be eligible either ways.

Also if I hire Consultant after getting confirmation of IELTS Exam, then it would be more like that I hire the Consultant on Nov 1, 2014 and it would take 3-4 weeks to get my documents reviewed and collecting all of them, that would become December 10-15, 2014, and I guess would be too late for me for going in the NOC 2171 file.

Kindly suggest as I am kinda confused in the head for hiring consultant earlier or later. Also, is getting 23 points a pretty good tough task. Thanks in advance.

ASMIA Dear,

ECAS usually updates when someone has been sent PER from CIC not after AOR.

[size=9pt] When you are in India strongly recommend hiring Abhinav guys. Go and meet them first.

They'll charge INR 60K only for the end to end process, and if you have given IELTS and done WES then you can negotiate it for INR 45K. They have multiple years of experience under the belt (some guys there like more than 10 or so I think) and a very decent success record. Don't need anyone from Canada at all...and yes hire earlier so documents get ready timely (tell them the price includes applying to express entry if this didn't work out)

Are you suggesting that the documentation done for FSW would help me later on in Express Entry Pool documentation as well ?
Also, have you used Abhinav people's services because I had a word with them, they weren't that optimistic about me taking their services before my IELTS exam. They said our fees wont get refunded if you dont score 23 pts in IELTS.

Is getting 23 pts such a great of a task , I am pretty well versed in English and have good Listening and Reading Skills.

Praise be to God! PER received Aug 18 ;D Was worried for a couple of days since some May 9 applicants already received their PER last Friday. Had to wait for Monday... worth the wait indeed!
Kindly update the spreadsheet for me. Thanks!

[size=9pt] No body refunds money. Do you think Canadian lawyer will refund? I paid over a lac some years back to a Canadian lawyer who applied after cap full, never got a refund. INR 45K is peanuts compared to that if you were to lose the money entirely, but with Abhinav you can atleast get them ready to consider you with the same fee for Express Entry if you could not let's say apply to FSW2014 by November for example. They can be open to the idea compared to a Canadian lawyer, who will put a BIG hole in your pocket on his own terms (no negotiation much).

I am not sure how much the documentation will come in handy considering EE will be an electronic application, but I am sure most of it can be used in some way or the other. Wasn't talking about documentation though.

You have to negotiate and decide who you need to smartly get your work done with minimal cost yet a good expert, not just a layman on the street. Yes I can vouch for them 110%. Not only have I taken their service I know people who took their service in 2011 and are now in Canada.

Yes I have a 24/24 score but people here also barely make like 18 or whatever the lowest possible score is, so it all depends on the individual.

I would actually like to thank you for your honest, quick opinion and knowledge sharing. Is it possible for us to connect through Gmail.
Request you to kindly PM me at shray.bhatnagar90@gmail.com

Sometimes at Forums it gets tough to track conversations. Your experience would be very much handy to me and can help me in Quick filing of application, as you yourself have used Abhinav's Consulting services. I presume you from Delhi.

Thanks in advance (Looking forward for the PM).
