Hi Friends,

I have recently applied for skill category 2171 - Information Analyst. My application should reach to immigration during this week. I am just wondering if I was late in applying or I can still be accepted with-in the current cap.

Experts please advise.

Gurjeet

Ok thats not an issue. I am more than happy to get the answers ( May that be PM or Forum).

Well, will definitely have a word with Abhinav Consulting. Cohen's Firm is charging around 3500$ that too on their own payment terms.
You are right on looking out for an Indian Consultant, but will I be required to get the Consulting Firm Representation form filled during application.

I am actually not sure if they are associated with ICRC. I hope it will not ring weird bells in Canadian Immigration Authority, because I have noticed the trend here through word of mouth. Consultants makes the Applicant file on their name and skip the Representation form filing part.

Most Emerging markets are on a boil (esp. India, hitting new 52 week highs) ..so all Broker/ dealers (1113) are overwhelmed.. managing Client's portfolios, exposures and of-course minting $$$'s. They will 'bid' for CIC when there's a slowdown on the bourses .. so Caps still showing a '0' 8)

On a separate note, each Markets require the Broker/ dealer to get certified from their Securities/ Exchange Commission before they're licensed to trade on their markets (might be same for Canada).. so its not a readily transferable job... perceived an entry-barrier .. IMO

The person signing my reference letter is in Canada and he has offered to send a scanned copy of letter and scanned copy of his business card.

I know copy of letter should be okay, but any idea if copy of scanned business card would be okay to be attached with the application?

@ rags,

Did you pay for Service level: FSWP Credential Assessment Package to WES (List price:CAD$ 180) ???

If you opted for any other package, CIC won't be able to view your ECA report online... get ready to be 'poked' by WES 8)

itsmerags said:
I didn't got the report yet , its on the way. but in VIEW report its showing summary: total grades :*** and GPA :as stated previously.

Well i m from India.

Tell me how much GPA is required or grades?

joms said:
Dear Oscar7,

No worries for GPA. This is due to selected the evaluation of course by course. Mostly GPA score is for higher studies and not for immigrating. Immigration people only need canadian equivalency status. If u choose course by course evaluation wes, u will get 2 reports ( Canadian equivalency + GPA scores).

Just a thought for you in terms of Express entry and abhinav helping u in that case... No one knows the process entirely. As far as i think employer will contact individuals and then CIC will invite you to apply for PR. So Abhinav in that case wont be of any importance when it comes to getting a job. So consider only FSWP and hey this forum is good as well. Just drop in ur questions and someone or the other will respond for sure. Find the link below for express entry...You will understand the entire process. this was uploaded recently.

@bloom,

Pls revisit your last 10 yrs Work history..... do you have any other exp (min. 1yr) in related NOC's (viz., 1111, 0111, 1113, 1114, 1212 ) ??
better to play safe ! 8)

This changes the game for hot NOCs such as 2174 and 1112. It seems that the occupation fills up faster than expected and we are only talking about 9 May applicants. Unfortunately I am applying for noc 1112. I just completed my application and I am now having second thoughts in submitting it. Should I risk submitting or is it better to wait for the express entry next year? Any advice forummates??

[size=9pt] Hmm interesting to note that. I wonder if that happens many would re-apply to EE despite their positive evaluation in FSWP, wouldn't they? ::) If one were to get a job through EE, why not.....

Correct

Hello Guys.

Since one of my reference letter is too old, i added also a solemn affirmation of affidativ explaining in a more detailed way my duties.
Do you think it will work?
I did not notarized it, i just added at the end "i acknowledge that this declaration is true and correct, and make it with understanding and belief that a person who makes a false declaration is liable to the penalties of perjury"

[size=9pt] I think it is understandable when the other person is half the planet away. Plus you can always explain that in cover letter my friend! :)

Is this the same guy who has company letter heads as well from 4 years ago? ::) LOL

Okay, yup you are right I would explain that in cover letter. Thanks.

PS: Naah, he is my current employer. It is just that, sending scanned copies would much quicker than sending it by post, which anyway can be sent later on.

That was my past employer.

Need some expert & experienced advise.

I am on H1b Visa in USA which expires in Sept'14. I have filed for an extension of 3 years but decision is pending & I doubt if it will be available till November.
I plan to apply at CIC in October.

I remember that CIC have guideline that you should have at least next 1 year of valid stay when you select visa office.

My most likely situation will be continuation on H1 but getting approved documents from lawyer & company will take min 3 months.

Please advise for the options I have,

What is your status going to be after the expiry of current H1B Visa and before the date of issuance of extension ? Between Sep and Nov that is.

As far as I know, extension has to be secured before the expiry. There is a certain grace period though, but is it long enough in your case ?

Regards

PS: I assume you are talking about expiration of your status, and not the visa itself.

Hi Guys,

Lastweek total applications received on CIC site was 887
today they have updated the count its 1421

A whooping increase of 534 apps in one week !!!!   ;D ;D

I'm really shocked , and hope CIC keeps up the speed

Did CIC really processes 534 apps in one week, or they updated the numbers that they must have missed in previous weeks :-X
