Dear Experts,

I am new to this forum.
I wish to apply FSW for 2173/2174 - I am an IT professional from India .
I understand that this is a hot NOC.Is there any chance if I start the process now ? I need to get IELTS and Eductional certificates attested too(hoping to get by mid-October).

Also, Could some one point out me a step by step guide for the application process ?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Start preparing your file...ielts is valid for 2 years and credential evaluation will valid for 5 years...so you can apply later if cap get filled...

I guess this also reflects the professions most popular in countries like India, pakistan, Bangladesh, singapore and others. In India IT and ITes dominate the job scenario in the services sector and KPOs are the next big thing. Thus high number of IT and Finance related fields.

It might not b best to look at accountant as a separate category but as part of the finance field as a whole. Finance category accounts for abt ~30% of the PERs issues till now (1112, 0111, 1111, 1212, 1114 etc.)

Also for Finance category (1112, 0111, 1111, 1212, 1114 etc.), I think its not possible to get the accurate picture from the SS. The reason behind this I think people from this sector will not spend enough time on the internet for R&D and if they find the SS they might find that complicated and avoid updating it. Also they will most likely use a representative to fill their application. Thats why the SS is currently showing a difference between CIC cap and SS application of 1112. The CIC cap for 1112 is around 200 but application registered in SS is around like 150 till date.

On the other hand for IT its like 25% to 30% for top IT NOCs compared to CIC data and SS data.

Hi,
I have a situation and need your help on this -

I am yet to apply for FSW, waiting for some final documentations and I have my passport getting expired in November 2015. So, assuming the processing takes time for safe side should I renew my passport now itself and send the details of the new passport or there is no probs for me ?

Regards,
Shahid

No wrry apply now and you can renew your passport later...

I just noticed something. The FSW total intake count is very heavily skewed by just a few occupations.

Here are the "hottest" occupations and the number of applications in descending order

1112 - 198
2174 - 197
2173 - 99
2171 - 64
2131 - 58

These 5 occupations total 616 of the 887 accounted for so far. That's a staggering 70 percent of all applications! Of them, computer related fields alone (2174, 2173, 2171) account for 40 percent of all the applications accounted for so far! If you add the 44 applications in the 2281 category- another computer related category- and redo the math, 45 percent of all applicants are in a computer related field! In other words, almost 1 in 2 applicants are in a computer related field!!!!

There are hardly any accountants, professors, physicians, and specialist doctor applicants so far. Why in the world accountants, professors, physicians, specialist doctors haven't applied so far is beyond me!

My dear friend,
There is small Error on your part in this post. Its not critical But misleading.
The Last NOC Category that u have added which had 58 Confirmed Applications Belongs to noc 2132 ( Mechanical Engineers) Not noc 2131 ( Civil Engineers)

Good catch! You're right - a minor error on my part with respect to the fifth "hottest" NOC. I have corrected the original post to show that mechanical engineers (2132) and not civil engineers (2131) are the 5th most popular occupation in this year's application cycle.

Hi All,

I was encashed yesterday on August 15 (my application received on May 14), so I registered to this forum to be a bit helpful as well.

I have applied under NOC 1112 according to my previous job experience. Currently I am holding a position not related to the NOC I have applied (this info was included in my application) however, I will be changing my position starting from September 1st which is again nothing related to NOC 1112. So, the question is: should I inform CIC about my position change??? Could you please advise.

Thanks a lot! Good luck to all!

Congrats.... Hope you have updated your data in spreadsheet also...you can use the link from my signature panel for entry...pls don't forget to save edit my response link for future

No need to worry, u just need have continuous one year experince in the NOC you have applied for. You can inform the local VO about your change of position in job once your file gets transfered to local VO
